... Vancouver QueerFilmFestival running Aug 13 ~ Aug 23

Some intriguing sounding films being shown there, including a few with Asian themes, or at least Asian guys in 'em (***) :

Thanks Smiles.
I like to check out film festivals to get ideas on movies to rent from netflix. If I was rich and retired I'd probably be attending them myself but alas, netflix is the best I can do.
I didn't recognize any of the titles except "City of Borders" which got good reviews here in San Francisco and "Shank".

Oh, and I actually saw "Otto, or Up with Dead People". Now I love Zombie movies but I have to say this was a total piece of crapola.
I expected something like "Shawn of the Dead" but it was some kind of German uber-existentialism shadenfreude-angst marxist ....thingy.

If anyone's interested in more titles take a look at "Frameline" which runs in San Francisco in June during Gay Pride. http://www.frameline.org/festival/

And this gem I'm waiting for on netflix: "Boy" http://www.frameline.org/festival/film/ ... 766&FID=45 (http://www.frameline.org/festival/film/detail.aspx?id=1766&FID=45)
