I was checking out the New York Times and ran across this article on a very upscale home in Phuket. Very much out of my price league. Check out the second link that contains pics of the the palatial digs.

Sigh....My style is more the two guys guest house...Oh..well.

Have a bit of a hard on for Americans?
I have no money, and certainly no class but given the chance I would love to live in a place like that to experience the view and the amenities.

As an aside I find people who talk about money and insist in critiquing the taste of other to be absolute boring pricks.

Tell you what, next time I am in Pattaya, we can meet up. I will be the fat american wearing the ugliest hawaiian shirt you have ever seen. Let go for a drink and I will be able to tell you within 3 minutes whether or not you are a boring prick.

WELL, as an American architect, I must say the furniture is ghastly!!! But the house itself is very stunning.
Maybe I will buy it with what is left in my stock portfolio and fix it up!! OH, just remembered, Barney made off with my MILLIONS!

Agreed. Most Americans, with their 60 inch waist lines, would not fit into the chairs.

Are Brits and Aussies really in that much better shape, belly-wise, than Americans? I have my doubts, from what I have seen.

Oh yes. Here's just one example that indicates an obesity rate of 35% for Americans vs 20% for Aussies and 25% for Brits:[attachment=0:3n03ln5f]Obese Americans.jpg[/attachment:3n03ln5f]

Well, maybe only the obese ones travel to Thailand, then.

Well, maybe only the obese ones travel to Thailand, then.

Maybe the owners of the house can get a bevy of obese Americans and the odd other obese westerner to spend a long weekend sitting on the plastic furniture and crushing it down to smaller bit to eventually be sent to china to be recycled into plastic bags.

GWminUS - I am not sure about the architectural style of the house (My knowledge of Architecture is almost zero) but it looks very modernist all boxy and cubist with lots of floor to ceiling glass. What would you consider the style of the house?
Anyway the outdoor spaces are stunning and that view....sigh.

I will send the owner an email and see if I can arrange a funiture crushing visit.
Volunteers can sign up for the trip only if they meet the minimum BMI (Body Mass Index).

I guess that being a MORON yourself qualifies you to use those five letters.

Take a sedative, you plainly need one.

In fact........... take an overdose.

I wonder how much they want per week. Im looking for something tasteful yet understated near the beach for September. It looks like one of those places for rent by the week. Are there two of them Jin and Jang? Or is that just American for Asian?
