I have never been to one of the gay massage places. I am interested in the massage, but I dont want anything "exta". Do I still have to pay an additional tip to the masseur? If so, what is a fair amount for massage without extras. thanks

You are taking up an hour of the guy's time, of course you have to bloody tip him. He's a prostitute...you pay for his time; what you do with it is up to you. I can't believe there are people out there who are so stupid.

Cosmosmariner -

Massage places come in many varieties, but three that interest you would be:
(1) Straight-looking place, just massage, absolutely nothing else
(2) Straight-looking outside, but possible gay-ish in the room, handjob may be offered or not. If no sex ensues, masseur won't be disappointed.
(3) Gay-looking placeoutside, reeking of sex inside. Masseur expects that you will want sex.

Type (1) would be places like Healthland on Sathorn Road, good massage, but absolutely sexless. I guess, you're not itnerested in that.

Type (2) you can find in the Silom area. Siam Sawatdee, Paradise, Pranee are some of the places that have both boys and girls inside. Prime Massage on Silom Soi 6 and Mantra on Suriwong Road are similar. Ask for a male masseur and for an oil massage. About half or more of the boys would be ready to do a handjob if you wish, but wouldn't be disappointed if you kept it clean. Masseur remains clothed throughout. Expected tip without handjob, my guess would be 300 baht. With handjob, my guess would be 500 baht. I'm not sure of this, because I seldom go to these places.

Type (3) places are those where the massage quality is secondary to sex. That is why romania mentioned "risk" of a bad massage. My experience is that in these places you have a less than 50 percent chance of a satisfactory massage. Massuer is often nude. Sex is definitely expected and the minimum tip is 1,000 baht. Higher if they do more, or if you're happy.

You may wish to go to my blog (http://shamelessmack.wordpress.com) where there are a few posts about various massage places and what you can expect at each one.

If you are looking for very good therapeutically massage, the T.B.M.I. inside Jomtien Complex is the place where to go (or ask for outcall for a small extra fee).

There are around 20 or so (male/female) highly skilled massage therapists, mostly trained by the owner, Khun Sayan. Massage at T.B.M.I. is strictly non-sexual.

Khun Sayan is a massage specialist of international recognition, travelling all over Thailand teaching in hospitals and universities medial staff, students and doctors Thai, Khmer and other massage techniques.

The T.hai B.lind M.assage I.nstitute is now 10 years in Jomtien. There record is excellent. Most of the T.B.M.I staff is blind or nearly blind. There is no scam.

Massage costs around 200 TBT and up per hour. There is a billboard outside informing you about there costs. Tipping the therapists at the cashiers only is up to you, some leave 50, others 100 TBT at the tip box as nice gesture. You might pay on your way out.

Just drop by, have a nice coffee, tea on there open terrace and tell Khun Sayan or his assistant what youтАЩre requirements are. You surely can choose between male and female therapists if this is for you of importance. They will work out ht best for you. If you are new to real Thai massage, it might be wise to start softly. Tell them after the massage what you liked and what not. It will get better every time.

Khun Sayan is a long time and gentle gay friend of mine. I know him since he opened T.B.M.I together with Papa Henry, a man with an heart of gold.

Please check the T.B.M.I. website for any further details: www.tbmipattaya.com (http://www.tbmipattaya.com)

Thank you. :flower:

A tip for the masseur is certainly justified.

The Thai Blind Massage Institute is highly recommended. I don't know anyone either Thai or Farang who has been disappointed.

Royal House for Men in Day/Night near TukCom is gay. A minimum tip of 1,000 Baht is demanded. Check the Utopia website: http://www.utopia-asia.com/patmasa.htm
