View Full Version : The UK pound again

June 11th, 2009, 22:49
... is on the rise. Predicted to be 58 bht to the pound at least in the near future. Remember, this is only a prediction.

Are you a currency trader or is this just wishful thinking?

June 11th, 2009, 22:58
Baht getting weaker or pound getting stronger? Or both?

June 11th, 2009, 23:02
The pound is getting stronger.

When I fart, that means the pound goes up a little.

I'll be sending you 200 cans of baked beans for Xmas - should get the bht back to 70 by february

It was at 70 when I took 36 cans of HEINZ baked beans (the best) to David (in Pattaya) Ferguson some years ago.

1.17 to the Euro, it will be past 1.20 when I go to Spain in august :)))))

Anyone who can reliably predict short to mid-term currency movements should make so much money trading that holiday costs are inconsequential. Trouble is, it's not that easy.

Yup, I trade stock index futures and the profits do pay for my extras. It's no easy task and even after a year of trading I'm only correct a bit more than half of the time. Fortunately, that's often enough. Currencies have their own challenges...definitely have to specialize to trade them.

The prediction looks reasonable.

As at mid morning local time 12 June, 55.16 baht to the pound (Bangkok Bank).

Considering it was @ 46 or 47 not long ago, this is good news for some.

do we really a new thread started for each time any currency changes against the baht?? surely anybody who is interested in exchange rates can look them up online. there isnt much to say about them other than complain.

If I aint got anything else better to do then "yes". I am informing people. If they want to know, then great, if they don't they tough. You don't have to be a member of this board matey! It's a choice.

I don't know why the Thai government don't just devalue the baht to say B200 to the ┬г1 then we would (well the brits) all be happy and be on the next flight over there :clown: simple really

As far as I can tell, predicting currency movements isn't a core competency on this board, although if some members consistently make money trading currencies, I might revise this view.

Discussing which banks have free ATMS & which bars are good is possibly a better idea.
