I want to do the day tour in Bangkok where you travel up country in the morning and river cruise back to BKK in the afternoon. Has anyone done this trip? I know that I can book from the tour desk at my hotel but I would rather prebook on internet as I will be arriving late afternoon usually too late for local booking.
I have googled several sites but would like to hear from personal experience

Tks

Did you contact your hotel? They should be able to connect you to their travel desk and they should be able to handle your request and you can pay in advace through the hotel's payment plan. It will be a great trip, be sure to wear shoes for walking. I observed a well dressed lady on that trip who have very nice shoes but could not walk aorund because of the heels. Hmmm not suggesting you would wear high heels.

Try to be first onto the boat. You can then go upstairs and get a seat right at the prow in the open air (don't forget a cap to protect you from the sun) - a wonderful way to see the countryside as you sail back to Bangkok.

me4thai, my guy and I did this tour to Ayutthaya and then lovely leisurely trip back to BKK on the Chao Phraya.

http://www.circleofasia.com/Ayutthaya-T ... -(Bus-Boat (http://www.circleofasia.com/Ayutthaya-Tour-and-Cruising-(Bus-Boat)).htm

When you open the site go down and click on "show all tours and cruises" It is second or third down.

These guys have two boats but both look the same. I will look for my pamphlet when I get home tonight but here is the web site. Fantastic buffet lunch.

Although you are in Ayutthaya for only about 1.5 hours, it is amazing. Plenty of opportunity to take shots. Don't forget to ask other tourists to take your picture. No one minds and they will ask you also. We loved our day and have some great shots as proof.

Also things you might not otherwise see Bang Pa-In Summer Palace and several beautiful and historic wat.

From memory I think it cost us about 1500 baht each. The day well organised though.

Cheers

I think Krobbie has covered it pretty well. Bao Bao has also taken the river trip to Ayuttaya and he thought it was excellent. Not sure if it├иs the same one mentioned by Krobbie above, but you might send Bao Bao a PM about this . . . I dont think he reads the Board all that often, so may not notice this thread.

Cheers ...
