"long rifle guns" ... Sounds like you're something of a weapons expert, eh?

Not the small hand guns or pistols that police men have.
what do you call these? :argue:

Rifles? (Or, more technically, the M16A1)
I wish I was ALL KNOWING like your good self
h4t, keep wishing and you never know what may happen. It was a simple answer to a simple question - unfortunately that seems to upset some people.
Channel 11 (D-station) on my TV has been blocked. This channel broadcasted red shirt speeches and activities all day long before it was blocked. :shaking:
Channel News Asia says the guns are M16 and assult rifles with real bullets.
Also, says the next 48 hours are critical.

Monks shouldn't be anywhere near the confrontation. Anyone who is, should be prepared to die.

Isn't that also what the Burmese Junta said?

Yes, and they were right. I do not believe that religious leaders of any stripe should be involved in politics. If they do, they should be prepared to be gunned down like civilians, no more and no less.

That's fair enough - as Buddhist monks they are probably better prepared than most (as Th├нch Quс║гng ─Рс╗йc was).

I'm really starting to think that this one may be different from your ordinary everyday coup in Thailand. I also fear it may be related to something that is global in scope. Hold on to your hats. If I am right (and I hope I'm not) we are all in for a hell of a rough ride these next few years.
You could be right, ES, especialy if Someone Very Important were to pass away before this is resolved.
But, what exactly is this "global in scope" situation to which you refer?
