No, not mold on my black leather thong -yet, but on my leather jacket. I don't AC my apartment 24/7, but just at night and not all the rooms, so there is humidity build up. What can one do to make sure something like a leather jacket doesn't get mold reoccuring on it in tropical LOS?

or buy a dehumidifier

we have the same problem living by the sea in surfers paradise. for your wardrobe a product called "hippo" is a box of powder that absorbs the moisture. great for leather shoes that go mouldy during our wet season. "damp rid" is good also although the boxis smaller and not as good value

Similar items are available at Foodland/Lotus/Carrefour/ HomeWorks, etc. To initially get rid of the mould try rubbing it off with the inside of a banana skin (seriously!).
