So they plan on it being quite empty?

Have they done their research?

6,000 pubs face closure due to UK smoking ban (http://www.caterersearch.com/Articles/2008/06/30/321852/6000-pubs-face-closure-due-to-uk-smoking-ban.html)

UK pubs are now closing at a rate of 30 per week, 7 times that of before the smoking ban (http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20090202222827AA5IBsZ)

Which came first the chicken or the egg? What's causing the pub closings the smoking ban or the recession. My guess is the recession, other countries, or in the case of the USA, states have imposed smoking bans before any recession and there were no wholesale closures of bars. Britain is in bad financial shape, probably even worse than the USA. It would follow then that the recession is the real culprit. However, I know the smokers will feel otherwise, they always feel so abused.

HAVE YOU DONE YOUR RESEARCH is a better question.

The first 2 articles you link to state that the economy is as much to blame as the ban on smoking
that was already in effect in Scotland, Wales, and elsewhere without effect on closures.

"A mix of the smoking ban, alcohol taxes and the recession are being blamed."

The third link is a Yahoo question posed by an individual, not an article or any research based opinion
at all. There are only 3 answers to the question and they all say the ban is not the problem.

I have been told that there will be a terrace, from which smokers can watch the cabaret.

.

I have no need of research. I haven`t been in a pub in the UK since smoking was banned. I have saved a fortune as take home booze is a lot cheaper. I ain`t sitting outside a pub to be gassed to death by car fumes or suffering frostbite.

Multiply me by millions.

Im sure non smokers didnt up their spending to compensate the pub owners

Why not be sensible and have smokers rooms - they do still at the airports.

Trust me I know the Guyz who are going to RUN this VENUE Complex and if any one can bring in the customers in this group can.

All Ill say is hold your breath and wait for the fun to begin, the only thing your want to know is how do they do it for the Money, as a Bank Manager always rightly says before he is going to lend you money, Ill have to look at your history and the History here is Impeccable, Show Business, Appearance and Management, also Theatrical Costumery, and owning Hotels, all very successfully and a fun personality, balance by a Rottweiler integrity, if you come over as a creep to them, but very forgiving and generous, when it opens go and your be in for a Big Suprize. :joker:

Everything will be run like a Military exorcize, nothing second class, only the best money can buy here, at a price you will be able to afford. we have not always seen eye to eye but you have to earn Respect and I'm very respectful with their business acuman.

If I did not think it was going to work with a recession or not, I would not be putting
My head on the line for it.

The Main Cabaret Area is mostly Open with Lots of Fans and air-conditioning [We dont want the Artists Mascara running} Nothing is worse than a Katoy with runny make-up. There is also the added benefit of the Main Show Floor being cooled by the breeze from the Private Pool.

We offer over 20 metres of Terrace area for smokers.

The hotel although not totally non-smoking has the Top floor Balconies set aside for those who wish to induldge. Incidently Marriott Globally did a survey and over 80% of smokers even prefer non-smoking Bedrooms.

believe me this is going to be the best showbar and hotel in town. Why all the whinging about smoking, I get through 2 packets a day but would happily stay here even if it meant I could not smoke in the bedroom. It has already been stated that a couple of bedrooms have balconies where a smoker can have his pleasure in any case.If one is so desperate for a ciggy he can always nip downstairs. The showbar will easily accommodate smokers anyway on the terrace and thats where the majority of people will be. Half the enclosed bars in Pattaya are now non smoking and I havent seen a decline in business not through the smoking ban, more likely the 50 baht to the pound . My hotel is also non smoking and business is up not down who wants to stay in a room reeking of stale smoke which no amount of ventilation can remove. Get real guys, think positive and be grateful that someone is prepared to take the plunge and invest in what is going to bring Jomtien alive once more.

Your track record?! You can't even acknowledge being LMTU, let alone picking up his habits of passing off other's information as your own experiences!
