this is the same as asking for a ditto in the greater LA-area. So be more precise: what is good location for you/for which things? what is budget-tell a price-or maybe rather what you would at least think to need to have in the room (like AC? Own shower? etc.)-the very cheapest priced are about 200 bt/N-and lack both-the tipical ''prison cell'' lookalike with just 4 walls, a bed and a fan on the ceiling. For from 6/700 bt. you can get more tourist-standard good rooms with all that and even TV, and maybe even Breakfast incl or free wi-fi and a hint of style/design. NOTE: these places most often do NOT allow you to take temporary Thai partners inside. For cheap lodging the BangLamPhu (more often known as Khao Sarn) area attracts thousands of mainly young backpackers on a daily base-google for that site-it links to many accomodations too. as usual: about ANY practical old-fashioned guidebook will have millions of ideas and suggestions-even on how to get there cheaply from airport.
