Don Plaza Hotel - Any feedback?

Anybody stayed at he Don Plaza Hotel in Sunee Plaza Pttaya already and hav any feedbacks.
Got some infos but thats just rumore.
A friend ask me and plan to stay there.

Steep dark stairwells which some say can be dangerous. They do not accept credit cards so make sure you have baht to pay with. I understand the rooms are nice and while the location is good for night time during the days the area is pretty deserted.
