Koh Samui - VERY quiet

The Chaweng beach area is very quiet. It feels like it is half full compared to previous trips at the same time of year.
Ton, my friend from Pattaya has joined me :) I told him to fly from U Tapoa but he opted to take the 16+ hours bus and ferry trip.
The silly boy will be flying back !

Only 1 host bar remains "K Bar" behind Starbucks on the strip.

The troup from the Star Club have moved en block to "Starz" which is a new shopping complex on the Chaweng beach road.

It occupies 4 shop units a large stage fantastic lighting and seating for 100+.
I will get some stage photos tonight.

We are staying at the Island resort on the strip. Nice, clean, a little old, but in this world you get what you pay for....

What happen to the 'Male Box' and the 'Boy Zone' bar? They were there when I was in Samui a few months ago. Both had full page adds in this months "Thai Puen" Mag.

Have you been over to Little Palace. I was getting conflicting reports on whether it was open, closed or for sale. Also conflicting reports on the health status of the owner Wolf.

in this world you get what you pay for.... Christ! Based on those pics I hope you didn't pay very much.

OK, night 2... Boy Zone and Body Stop are quiet and late night places.
The show was not due to start until 11:30 ! well past my bed time.

On the way down I found Qtop which claims incorrectly to be the old Star Club show.

Would you recommend the 'Island Resort overall? is it joiner friendly?

No I did not see thw Male Box show, it ws going to be too late.

I don't know if The Island is joiner friendly, I check in with my friend, he completes a registration form too, therefore is a fully credited guest not a joiner.

The 'resort' is a long strip for road, about 250 meters in total.
All bungalows, the nearer to the beach the more expensive :)
Small swimming pool, restaurant and bar on the beach edge.

The place serves my needs and is ok at 2000 bhat a night.
