I work in Bangkok and have been to Pattaya (Sunee Plaza area) a couple of times in the last year. I thought I was going to try to save money by not doing anything for New Years, but now I've changed my mind and would really like to spend that week in Pattaya. Obviously, I have waited much too long to try to book a room in any of the better known places. Is it completely unrealistic to think I can just show up on the 28th or 29th and try to find a room in one of those no-name guesthouses or "mansions" around Soi VC or Soi Yensabai? Are there other areas near Sunee Plaza where I might have better luck? Or does anyone have any other suggestions? Thanks for any help.
