Hotel in early January 2009

The opportunity came up to visit Pattaya between January 3 and January 8. Short trip - but have to give it a go. Any ideas on a hotel? I usually stay in Sunee......last trip was in Don Plaza. Most like longer stay.....rate is higher, I know.....it's important but I know I will get a busy season rate.

Any and all ideas appreciated. Something on the nicer side and safe........

I always stay at Welcome Plaza, just off 2nd Road and close to Boystown and close enough to walk to Sunee. A quiet hotel with a nice pool.

The DON PLAZA might still be worth a shot. The official prices are seemingly steep for that area but personally - I like it. Perhaps speak to Stephan about prices. However it was during Erich's management that this place really worked; despite his design of a window between the bedroom and the bathroom.

The Eldorado is also a cheap clean place on the soi- run by Swiss. The boiled beef with red cabbage is recommended.
