BOMB DEVICE WITH POLITICAL MESSAGE FOUND IN PATTAYA
A bomb with a letter attached to the PeopleтАЩs Alliance for Democracy (PAD) has been found in Pattaya.

Police Colonel Somnuek Junket of the Banglamung Police and his team reacted quickly to reports that what appeared to be a bomb together with a threatening letter had been discovered in Soi Wat Bunsampan 5.

At the scene, police searched the area and found a white bag with a letter attached. The letter read: "To Panthamit (PAD), you always like to create problems. You like to see Thai people fighting each other. You are making all of us suffer. What have we done to you? We will watch your every step!!".

Police checked the bag and found a tube-shaped container bomb, 15 cm long and 5 cm in diameter. It was in a good condition and ready to be used. If detonated it could cause damage up to a distance of 50 meters.

A shop owner, Mrs. Wandee Waiyakorn (39) residing at 180/39 Moo. 13, Nongprue, Banglamung told police that she had found the bag near the garbage bin and added that she supported neither side (yellow or red) in the current political conflict.

Police Colonel Somnuek stated that we have a serious problem with politics at the moment and there are a lot of PAD members in Pattaya. He presumed that this bomb was displayed in order to threaten the PAD. However, the device had now been retrieved and would be destroyed.
