lol... I'm sure it was supposed to be the other way around... it seems police had to flee and abandon several vehicles after an attempt to stop more protesters from entering the site.

I think the possibilities of this ending soon (within 3-4 days) are slim. The PM has promised not to use force. PAD are adamant they won't move unless he quits.

Got a real bad feeling that the lack of tourism is now going to do irreversable damage to the Thai economy. People are now looking at next years holidays and thinking that no way are they going to risk booking to a place that cannot be certain that there will be an airport thats open. Im thinking now mainly families and not the single traveler. Just the type of people the Thai tourist board were trying to get to holiday there.

Any government that cannot send in the police or troops to sort this mess out is so weak that it's totally useless.
A resignation or a coup is in order.

One way or another it will be over by Friday 5 December.
It is unthinkable that this could continue during HM The King's Birthday celebrations.

Police are moving in. But it's hard to tell if this is a half-hearted "put on a show" effort or a real sustained effort to get protesters out.

Business leaders have threatened to stop paying taxes if the government doesn't get the airports up and running again.

200,000 electronics plant workers have been laid off around Bangkok

Up to 1 million Thais are set to lose their jobs in the coming year due to this.
