Compulsory Gala dinner on New Years Eve

Do all hotels in Pattaya request to book/pay a Gala dinner at New Year Eve ?

Most do, plus the same for a mediocre Xmas dinner, just another way to get cash from tourists. Most people pay and dont go.

The Ambiance does not.

I believe they refer to their dining facility as a тАЬcoffee shopтАЭ rather than a restaurant, although they have an extensive menu which is well prepared.

I have to endure Christmas up country at Forra Hill Resort, Loei.

If any board member is in the area we shall be partaking a specially selected Christmas lunch served in a private area on the balcony.

Pop in for a drink from 2pm. Or pre-dinner drinks at 6:15 on the terrace.

I will then have to suffer through another specially selected Christmas dinner.

Lunch, Dinner and overnight accommodation 3000 baht.
