Left out of the post below regarding a recent excursion to Isaan, I was looking at these two photos and really feel they sum up a couple of deep ~ though unrelated ~ emotions regarding the overall Thailand experience (whatever that may mean to you).

This first shot was taken by my guy at his home. Three of his (thousands!) of nephews (and one neice) popped in from around-the-corner-or-up-the-road-or-across-the-rice-paddy and did one of those totally endearing poses for the camera that only kids can carry off without crossing over into the maudlin.

How many times have you seen Thai kids on the beach ... sat beside Thai kids playing bloodthirsty computer games while you are trying to concentrate on answering emails ... walked passed moms interacting with their 5-yr olds ... watched Thai kids playing in a dusty school playground ... etc etc etc

Same same faces here:

And then, crudely, yet desireously ... the Thai-guy-you-last-offed for an over-nighter lying there the Morning After on a white sheet, blanket 'just covering': sweet as a peach ... lickable as all get out ... "don't wake him up, fuckhead!"

But not to burst the bubble . . . this is in fact my guy collapsed ~ as dead ~ at a quite pleasant hotel in Prasart in the first morning light after the last a day of the rice harvest. He was finally finished, and exhausted. And useless as tits on a bull, I should add.

I'm up country for Christmas and will, I trust, be able to post pictures of Thailand and real people.

I will not have my friend with me so sorry no "in bed" pictures.
We all know how all Thai's can sleep anywhere at the drop of a hat.

The three boys in the first pic are photogenic, what with their bright eyes and warm smiles. Unfortunately, though, the picture is spoiled by being so badly framed. Better luck next time.

And like so many Thai guys I know ... hogging the centre of the bed so that their partner doesn't have enough room on either side to get a decent nights sleep.
Short time only, thanks.

The framing is what makes the photo. The girl (I think) appears to be sticking her head in the photo of the two boys with a sly almost Mona Lisa smile. Take a photo of me too. Three different smiles taken by a photographer named Smiles.

Good thing you were not around when Leonardo put a smile on that lady he was painting, nice framing Leo but wipe that smile of that lady.

Children are by far the most delightful photo subjects, and khun Pot got a great shot of his nephews. You can see hints of personality in their faces: a little bashfulness, a genuine display of happiness, a little impishness, and the playful nature of the pink hair band that may or may not be a clue to the future (assuming thatтАЩs not the one niece?!?).

My guess would be that because they were in familiar surroundings with familiar folks (Khun Pot being a sort that puts most anyone at ease) they felt relaxed about тАЬposing,тАЭ because kids donтАЩt pose as well as they do just caught on the fly. That may well because they usually have far more important kid things to do than sit still for a moment and look cute for some strange foreigner!

.
Because they were uploaded some time ago, here are a few of my favorites from my album here.

Kids the world over are delighted by a simple bottle of bubble solution. These were in the Udon Thani airport.

Playing with a little toy maze outside a club on Pattaland Soi 1 one morning:

тАжand an image thatтАЩs at least in my top five from any trip there: the kid on the train to Udon Thani, playing with the beanie bear I gave him after his hand got pinched in a door. That portion of the story is at http://www.sawatdee-gay-thailand.com/fo ... t8710.html (http://www.sawatdee-gay-thailand.com/forum/sharing-a-smile-on-the-train-to-isaan-t8710.html)

Hope you post more soon, Smiles. IтАЩll keep checking your album here

PS - Nice back, too :compress:

Indeed, bao-bao. Some of my favorite photos are kids just being kids.
Although a bit white-washed, here's one of my favorites (kids in Chiangmai) I've posted elsewhere:

That photo was taken by Pot, and pretty spontaneously I'm sure. Not posed at all except for a quick "OK, smile now".
Personally, I think it gains by that non-method, rather than loses.

Cheers ...

Exactly so - it doesn`t look contrived.
