Shanghai recommendation, hotel, gay tour guide

I'll be stopping off in Shanghai for a week on my way to BKK in May. Wondering if anyone has any recommendations on hotels (are there any gay or gay-friend hotels, best area to stay in) and any recommendations and experiences with a gay tour guide there.
