Obama assination plot

There is news coming in that an assination plot on Barack Obama has been averted.

Not exactly an eminent threat. Sounds more like the mad fantasy of a couple beer for brain rednecks and an ATF office trying for a little attention through sensationalizing the case.

ATF disrupts skinhead plot to assassinate Obama

WASHINGTON (AP) тАФ Federal agents have broken up a plot to assassinate Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama and shoot or decapitate 102 black people in a Tennessee murder spree, the ATF said Monday.

In court records unsealed Monday, federal agents said they disrupted plans to rob a gun store and target a predominantly African-American high school by two neo-Nazi skinheads. Agents said the skinheads did not identify the school by name.

Jim Cavanaugh, special agent in charge of the Nashville field office for the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, said the two men planned to shoot 88 black people and decapitate another 14. The numbers 88 and 14 are symbolic in the white supremacist community.

The men also sought to go on a national killing spree, with Obama as its final target, Cavanaugh told The Associated Press.

"They said that would be their last, final act тАФ that they would attempt to kill Sen. Obama," Cavanaugh said. "They didn't believe they would be able to do it, but that they would get killed trying."

Actually this is the second plot announced. There was also a couple of wackos in Denver that were arrested during the convention.


Don't underestimate the wackos. Lincoln, Garfield, McKinley were all killed by kooks. Reagan was shot but not killed by another lunatic. Jackson, Truman and Ford (twice) were also shot at by nut cases.
And those are just the ones I can think of off the top of my head.

Additionally, FDR as an elected President before being sworn in, Kennedy once before it was successful, Nixon twice, Carter once, Clinton twice and Bush twice and father Bush after leaving office once and same after leaving office for Teddy Roosevelt (but running for President again) and George Wallace while a candidate (same dude that tried to get Nxon) and Robert Kennedy while a candidate and..............maybe sitting President Harding but not conclusive..........admittedly, some of these were poor attempts.......but your odds are not very good really if your a USA President.
