Sorry to bother the board, but I will be in bangkok for two full days with my 32 year old BF. Neither of us are looking to pick any boys up, and this is his first time in Bangkok. I know all the sights to show him in daytime, but the only sights at night I know are on sukumvit or silom. We both like to dance, we both like floor shows, live bands, rock music, and -sorry about this-but drag shows without the donkey acts. (For you Commonwealth people see Tijuana.) Can you tell me some names and locations of the gay--mostly Thai--places we might go at night. A PM would be nice if you have a good place that you do not wish to see overrun by Farangs. Any information would be appreciated.

for music venues you might want to check out http://www.bangkokgigguide.com/ which lists all sorts of music venues and has show listings. I seem to remember reading that there is a small bar with live music on Silom Soi 4.

if you have particular bands/artists in mind you can often find show listings on their websites/myspace or hi5 pages. ModernDog's website http://www.moderndog.biz/tour.php lists all of their shows...they are playing somewhere or other most nights. There are also small stages around the big malls that have live music, including Heineken Park beer garden venue at Central World (and other Central malls around the city) and the stages between Siam Paragon and Siam Discovery.
