Pattaya Walking Street

For those who live or are visiting Pattaya: After waiting 7 months for the new "Walking Street" arch, how do you like it? ...wait, it isn't an arch anymore, it is a billboard. :idea:

A total eyesore befitting this city.

I predict there will be no maintenance/up keep on the thing (look at the former "Beach Road improvements" on the walkway) and so the thing will gradually fade away...or some songtaew will run into one of the steel posts that is located too close to the narrow street.

They could have done somthing that made you look up and go wow! but instead you look up and go mmmmmmmmm wat.

It is very disappointing how often the city comes up short on "improvements".

The whole effort on the Beach Road promenade, the lack of up keep and maintenance on the Pattaya City sign on the hill, the road below the hill; just a few examples where things have fallen short.

The city needs some good designers and then the will to keep things looking nice.

Here is the monstrocity itself. Mindbogglingly bad.

I'm not surprised the sign is so hideous. At least, Pattaya can continue to rest on its laurels as being the only place in Thailand with nothing of beauty and nothing of merit whatsoever.

I must be seeing a different sign!
