View Full Version : Korea

This posting is relevant to Thailand because I am worrying that Thailand could be next.

My sex-maniac friend (now in Vietnam) spent years in Korea. When he arrived, he found that Koreans found nothing at all wrong with male friends jerking off together. In the baths, it was not regarded as abnormal in any way if a guy decided to jack off.

An interesting custom: good friends would rent a (straight) porno video, check into a short-time hotel, and jack off watching the video.

Long-time friends were commonly called "masturbation friends."

All of this was accepted Korean culture, even if tacitly accepted.

Korea is now over fifty percent Christian, and all of the above behavior has ceased.

This worries me, when I have time to worry. I worried even more when a female student at Chiang Mai University handed in a term paper with the title "Homosexuality." She got almost everything wrong, including the fact that boys walking around arm in arm are not typically gay, and neither are girls doing the same. But she claimed that Thailand should give up such behavior because it was "homosexual."

It is really sad that crazy Jesus (probably gay himself) should have become the patron saint of the anti-gay movement. Of course, almost everything that crazy Jesus said has been ignored in practice, while Saint Paul the Escaped Lunatic rules the roost.

Yes it is a shame. I had a real hot straight friend and we would watch pornos till the sun came up while doing line after line of coke, making us each even hornier. When I told him I felt like masturbating,he would want to turn off the movie and watch regular television. Well, one time when he went out for beer,I jerked off smelling his worn undies and made a mess on his wall behind the sofa.Needless to say he never left me alone in his place after that. I mean, what are friends for? We can only hope that the Christian influence will not eventually permeate Thailand.

I'm not particularly keen about the Moslem hostility to same sex relationships either.
The world would be a better place if all these religions did not presume they have the moral authority to "guide" the rest of us.

The 2 big religion businesses figured out hundreds of years ago the way to grow market share is to ensure their followers breed, hence the opposition to condoms, homosexality & so on.

Too bad the Chinese, instead of the one child policy, would have encouraged more homosexual relationships. In effect they will, long term. Since they selectively kill off the female foetus there is a large gender imbalance in China (as has been reported many times). Either there'll be more foreign wives, more Chinese (male) emigration or more homosexual activity - or a combination of all three. I think it was a William Burroughs' novel that had the memorable slogan (in promoting homosexual behaviour as a form of population control) "It's sapiens to be homo"

Unless you believe that being gay is a choice, and one can switch one's sexuality like one turns on or off a light, no shortage of Chinese women will ever result in more homosexuality in China. More masturbation, perhaps, but not more homosexuality.

Men do not seek out sex with other men unless they already have a proclivity to that type of activity. They do rape other men -- like in prison -- when they are seeking to establish a pecking order. It is borne out by a desire to exert dominance, rather than from sexual desire. Kind of like when a male dog humps another male dog.

I guess that must explain why a Google on "situational homosexuality" turns up no results.

No man "turns gay" because there are no women around, or for any other reason. I don't care what it says on the internet. They either had gay tendencies to begin with -- which might be magnified by lack of female company -- or they are using forced sex to establish a pecking order. I could be on a desert island with only women for a thousand years, and I would never fuck one of their slush boxes.

You would think differently if you had spent time in Muslim countries where sex with women, unless married, is hard to come by. A much higher percentage of the population in these countries is interested in gay sex.

So while shortage of female partners may not "turn people gay", it certainly increases the level and availability of gay sex.

You think there is more sex going on in, say, Iran than there is in, say, Thailand? I'd like to see a study to support that theory.

Men who have gay or bi-sexual tendencies may not express these, or may find them suppressed by the society they live in. Bi-sexuals may get pressurised into marriage by their society & may not indulge in gay activities due to peer pressure, legal restrictions (e.g. Iran), religion or lack of suitable opportunities.

Conversely, anyone with even the slightest gay or bi-sexual tendency may be more likely to dabble if there is a shortage of females & plenty of gay opportunities in a particular environment.

So we could reasonably expect gay sex to become more common in China.

Maybe not more, but hardly the best comparison as Iran is second only to Thailand in terms of the numbers of sex change operations, which probably has at least some bearing on homosexuality.
