View Full Version : Freelancers in Howards bar & Guest house

July 23rd, 2008, 10:27
Hi,
Iam new to this forum and infact this is my first post. Iam visiting pattaya for the first time in a few weeks time. Iam staying in Howards Guesthouse. I read some good review in the internet, is that good image still holds true? they also advertise that there are lots of freelance lads in the howards bar and there is no off fine. i guess its a good thing and eliminates hoping into the gogos for boys(which i really hate). Ok so my question here is how is the howards guest house now?, is it ok to stay there?, any experience with freelancers there?

welcome sunshine 76 to the forum..
It looks like I saw your initial posting/thread just minutes after you posted and will be the first to respond..

Howards is a fine place to stay, reasonable prices, large rooms, lift and a nice lobby bar without "off fees" for the boys.

In days gone by, there used to be up to a dozen lads working there but since Sansuk Sauna opened and the Thai
boss spends more time there, the boys are down to one or two most times and on occasion none at all..

It might be better this way as some friends have complained about overly aggressive boys who insist on accompanying you
when you return late at nite alone.. Some used to knock on doors and try to entice customers and this can be a nuisance
if you are uninterested.. Also everyone knew your business as you had to pass by the group of boys with your "off" for the nite
and this made some men uncomfortable especially if they had taken boys from Howards before and now the boys might react
to the butterfly farang who promised he would see them again..

You see, even paradise can be full of thorns and it is probably better now without the large numbers of boys there.

Howards also well located and very close to Sunee Plaza and not far from the Pattayaland Soi Boy Bars (Boyztown).. Also close
to baht bus to go to Jomtien gay beach and in the center of things for the most part. :cat:

You'll run into the "free lancers" all over the place even when you're not looking for them... on the beach; at the dance clubs (Xray for Men; Dudes; Body Language...) ; Panorama Bar at Boystown; Royal Garden Plaza; Day Night area... not just at Howard's.

The freelancers at Howards tend to be more on the femme side tho which for me is a turnoff. There is plenty of street traffic in front of the place tho.

If your budget permits spending a little more per night on room, you will find the Sansuk Sauna heaven. It is owned by same man as Howards.

Great rooms, wonderful pool, and a full swinging bath house style sauna where the free lance boys can be found. The employees take good care of you. I have posted a full report many months ago.

Facility is first class and of course the sauna crowd could change from night to night and hour to hour. I found it the best of all worlds. The hotel and sauna have just enough separation that you can determine how much you want to partake in the sauna scene or just the privacy of your very nice hotel room. The boys I brought back loved the hotel.

At least take the time to tour the place as you may want to stay there on another visit. I will be back in November and Sansuk will be my home for a few weeks.

I agree with Splash about the facilities at Sansuk. I visited a number of times when I was in Jomtien in late April and May, and on the second visit Khun Punya invited me to make a tour of the Guesthouse. Very nice, very clean rooms, all well set-up. The pool of the sauna is available to all guests at all times. I have seen complaints about the location, but I think they are exaggerated. True, you can't just drop out into a caf├й or a bar, but a couple of minutes up to the main road gets you a songtaew to Jomtien or Pattaya almost immediately. (I have seen the slope up to the main road described as a a 'hill', but I suppose that judgement depends on whether or not you still have legs that work.)

However, I'm puzzled by Splash's referenve to free-lance boys. I understood before I first visited that they were banned from working there, and everything I saw bore this out. At weekends there were young Thais in the sauna, but they were very 'sticky', and I never saw any farang have any success with them. (I didn't myself, either!) None of them was there to make money, I'd say. The reasons for Punya's ruling could be various. Perhaps he doesn't want the place to get a reputation as a sleaze-pit; doesn't want to pay tea-money; doesn't want an alternative attraction to the in-house masseurs, etc. Whatever (unless things have changed in the last two months), I think it would be a mistake to go there believing that a bevy of gorgeous boys was automatically available. It's not the Aquarius in Phuket!

Sorry for dragging this thread off topic....

But i have to say i have had a lot more luck in Sansuk than in Aquarius in Phuket.

I have never seen a farang not score in Sansuk.
Its always full of:
- gay boys with "normal" jobs who are up for fun
- Kept boys looking for fun or looking to prove they still have the ability to pull
-Freelancers hoping for a follow up date (1st shag free, 2nd and subsequent cost!)
And always crowded after 6 or so...

Psssssst ... this a secret so I'll whisper it. You have to realize that Piston only ever wears sandals with high black socks. That's the reason he can't score!
You heard it here, and from a very reliable source.

Cheers ...

Did you ever see two such diametrically opposed reports on the same place? Astonishing! So it's Colmx's 'always' against my 'never'. I suppose we were there at different times (I only visited 6 times in 3 weeks), but, more generally, it indicates how large a pinch of salt you have to take with any report about success or failure in the flesh pots. Sorry I find myself in the position of negating your experience, Colmx.

And Smiles, you wicked old bugger, I'm thinking of calling in my libel lawyers - they'll get you, even in Hua Hin and despite the minuscule font. I have witnesses of good character who will vouch that I NEVER wear sandals. I don't own a pair, actually. As for black socks with them.... Lordy me! what difficult times we live in!

Piston, did you visit the dark room on the first floor of sansuk?
Or the steam room on the 2nd floor after dark?

I think you will find that the stick rice becomes very unsticky once they get into the darker areas!

What do other board members think?

Sansuk= Easy to "score" or not?

Very easy to score for me - even in the daylight and i am not slim. Every visit in sansuk was full success - more sex than i needed.

July 24th, 2008, 15:34
just my two cents,

shall we just stick to the topic please.
Iam really thankful for everyone for their replies.

but the thread has developed.

Oh Colmx, I spent hours in the dark areas, and, if it makes any difference, Atri, I am slim! We'll just have to see what others say. I had forgotten I did have one success; but giving a guy a quick poke before he rushes home to wifey (my impression, of course) wasn't quite what I was looking for. I visited because my hotel did not have a pool, and Sanuk sauna is a useful place to get a plate of food in the early evening.

Good morning Sunshine. Glad to see you are a new member and have already started your own (new) topic. Welcome to Sawatdee!

The Ropes: It may seem odd to you, perhaps even somewhat impolite, but Newton's 3rd. Law of Message Board Morphing applies to This Place in spades. I have never yet witnessed a topic which didn't go off topic somewhere along the line ... sometimes hilariously so. After about Page 3 or so someone will invariably come along and write something along the lines of " ... can we get back to original post please ... ". Then ... it may or may not :blackeye:

There is no controlling this immutable Law, so you'd better get used to it, relax, and enjoy it: it is the Monsoon in August ... it is the tide in the early morn ... it is the blooming of an orchid ... it is the farang schlumping blindly toward Sunnee Plaza with getting his rocks off in mind.

Cheers ...

Blowing up the font of a libel a hudredfold probably counts as being an accessory after the fact. You'll be hearing from my lawyers as well. However, I'm already thinking of settling out of court with both Smiles and yourself. The trouble is that every settlement I think of (a sort of 'forfeit') is unmentionable and an affront to the decorum of this Board. Now if we had been on Gay Tingtong...

Gumblebee... Ah, yes! They are so used to getting a real handful for their money.

Do you really mean Wesley's a bishop? Lovely! Now that get's my imagination going. I've always wanted to spend a few minutes fiddling with one of those frilly cottas and a crozier. After all, libel is a serious offence. And he thinks I'll settle for money? No. A serious offence should be repaid by submission to another serious offence, and what could be more serious than discommoding a bish in full drag?

BTW, how are we doing in the derailment stakes?

July 25th, 2008, 21:20
So, does anyone here hire freelancers @ Howards?

catawampuscat
July 25th, 2008, 23:49
sure z..
Since there is no "off fee" at Howards, you don't really "off" the boy but make your arrangements and the boy
is free to come and go at will.. Currently, there aren't many boys freelancing and my guess is that it is because
of the Thai boss being at Sansuk sauna most of the time and he is a strong personality and well liked..

Nice try z to get back on topic but I think the question of whether Wes is a prelate or works for a NGO is of more
interest to the guys for some reason that only Chao Na can answer... :cat:

That makes at least two of us Chao Na. I was just going back to delete the posting but you caught me..
The arcane point was to do with the mystery of why some posters find Wes and his going ons so interesting
and I thought a pundit was needed to answer the question but then realized that it was all so much nonsense
and will end this now and take a long needed break..

Actually, I had to look up what prelate was, I am certainly no Bishop. If I have a foundation then yes. If I work for an NGO no. If my foundation is legally a religious one would be no. If it is a Public Charitable Foundation then yes. If I accept support from a religious foundation yes, if I would take a Check from Satan himself ,Yes. If I accept both secular and ecumenical support for homeless kids, then I would say yes. When looking it up I did find this as one of the definitions in wiktopedia.
Personal prelatures are fundamentally secular organizations operating in the world (members take no vows and live normal, everyday lives),

The question has been asked, and no one seems to want to answer it, about the guys at Howards. I have enjoyed some and not some others. I have found a very friendly group of guys when I have been there and after chatting a while If I find one who is "Simpatico" I give an invitation to join me for some drinks and to spend time with me. Some others of the guys will try to join you, but a brief shake of the head is enough to send them off, with no bit of hard feelings. I like staying at Howards and will be back in two months.

Bing, I swear by the Holy Cross and the Holey mother of God, if I knew anything About Howard's I would tell you. I was on this Thead trying to find out anything new due to my impending trip in October. If any of you want to meet a real prelate or what ever Smiles called me. I would love to have a drink or two with any of you who may be there during October, Probably the first two weeks of October but I'm not sure yet.
