View Full Version : Bangkok Pride 2009

July 2nd, 2008, 19:58
There is an announcement about Bangkok Pride in April 2009 at Gay Pride (http://www.dragoncastle.net/gayfestival.shtml)

From that notice:

"The event will be called тАЬPride and Joy Festival 2009тАЭ
So nothing about BANGKOK in the title?

"Specifics are yet to be worked out because the intention is to have this be a community-driven process"
So F-all will happen ... or is that too cynical?

"open to everyone in Bangkok but under the leadership of the LGBT communities"
Do we know who these community leaders are? Are they elected or self-appointed?

And who will look after the money that's collected?

If you have something POSITIVE to suggest or offer, you will be most welcome, otherwise....

Yes something very positive.
Ban anyone who was involved in last year's fiasco.

I replied to the obnoxious comments you made on another thread. What support did you offer Pride last year? Or were you one of the many who did nothing but just enjoy mouthing off? You made an allegation about Pride committee members that you cannot substantiate and about something you have no knowledge of.

there are a million "experts" who always partake but never contribute.

Enough said?

99% of the gay community (both Thai and farang) do nothing to support it.

Maybe that means 99% do not want it?

As I said last year, it should be allowed to die quietly.

Agreed - along with similar divisive events elsewhere.
