Isn't Queen dead? Talking about old decrepit rockers: I notice that Gary Glitter is close to getting out of the hoosegow in Vietnam.

Jailed singer Gary Glitter is said to be planning a return to the music business after he gets out of jail.
The glam rock star, who is set to be released from his Vietnamese jail cell in August, was convicted in March 2006 of molesting two young girls.

But now Glitter has allegedly had his three-year jail term cut by three months, and he's ready to record a new album when he gets out.
According to Sky News Glitter said: "I have an incomplete album that I want to finish. I have been thinking about the plan during my days in jail."

Glitter also revealed he probably won't stay in Vietnam after he serves his sentence and is looking for a residence elsewhere - although not the UK, as he will be on the country's sex offender register here, after his 1999 conviction and jailing for downloading child pornography.

"I am trying to contact my lawyer and friends to see where the best place to live is," he said. ( http://www.nme.com/news/gary-glitter/37578 )

Cheers ...

dear old Gary Glitter should revive his stage act which was one of the most spectacular I've ever seen..he should do what the wacky Jonathon King does and confront the gutter rags head-on by encouraging them to call him a vile perevert..having now written a mucial called Vile Pervert which is very funny.

2000B seats are not very good. Section B if you get center is OK, it's 3000B and the best are center orchestra at 4000B.

You can select seats via ThaiTicket Major.

Subway stop is "Thailand Cultural Center"

" ... We Will Rock You is fantastic and is really just a cover band doing Queen's songs ... "
If I disagreed to any greater extent with this statement I'd probably have a massive vein-popping stroke. Every time (and I'm not joking) I heard that bloody song my one and only reaction was a silent gritting of the teeth and through them, tightly, spit out to anyone who'd listen, " ... Goddamit I hate that fucking song! ... ". Perhaps part of it was the constant airplay of the damb thing the R&R radio stations were assaulting their listeners with.

Ms Lunch, now that I have disagreed with you, you should be aware that according to Homintern I should be haranguing you as a message Board troll. To get from Pattaya to Esplanade Bangkok on Ratchadaphisek Road in 2.5 hours on a Friday afternoon/evening ... I think that Mike is very optimistic with his timings.
The incoming traffic on the express way is usually backed up to Bang Na on Fridays as early as 4.pm.

Yeah, that one was pretty lame, but Bohemian Rhapsody was brilliant:

I like this one the best I think, only becuase it's so poignant - he (Freddy Murcury) knew he was fucked when he recorded it.

'Made In Heaven' - Queen's Last Album

Freddie Mercury stands, almost in silhouette, facing a beautiful scene of snow-capped mountains and a lake. He's in his classic pose, with one fist in the air. To one side, Deacon, May and Taylor stand huddled in a group as if they were at a funeral. But is it really Freddie? No, it's a statue of him - this is Made in Heaven, Queen's last album. Freddie has died. His fellow band members have got together one last time to make a Queen album, using recordings Freddie made during his last illness.

Because everybody knew that Freddie had not long to live, they didn't want to take time out to write new songs, so some of the songs on this album are covers of old material: 'Too Much Love' is from Brian May's solo album Back to the Light, and 'Heaven for Everyone' is from Shove It by Roger Taylor's band The Cross. Nevertheless, Freddie really makes them his own.

Freddie Mercury died on 24 November, 1991. His singing of the bittersweet 'Too Much Love Will Kill You' will bring tears to your eyes.

"We will rock you" is just the most convenient title for the show and far from Queen's great works. To take exception to Queen based on over exposure to that track is to miss gems like "Bohemian Rhapsody" and "Radio Gaga". Mercury with Queen had a great range of styles and should not be judged by the few turgid anthem, which do, incidentally go down very well in a live theatre.

He is sorely missed.

Yes, I'm told he had a whopper

For those of you that haven't heard or got the 'Made in Heaven' Album, I have posted it below in very high quality audio stereo, should anyone wish to save the clips.

I have made them into two posts.

In keeping with the natural beauty of the cover photo, there's a very strong theme running through the album, of the beauty and wonder of this world, and of heaven - a heaven on Earth. Songs in this vein include:

'It's a Beautiful Day'
'Made in Heaven'
'My Life Has Been Saved'
'I Was Born To Love You'
'Heaven For Everyone'
'A Winter's Tale'

Of course, it's not all sweetness and light. Songs with a darker meaning include:

'You Don't Fool Me'
'Mother Love'
'Let Me Live'
'Too Much Love Will Kill You.

Enjoy!

George.
