Seen lots of snippet style videos of the tsunami in December '04, but not this particular one (though you may have). It's quite long and very compelling.
It's taken somewhere along the west coast of Thailand which was very hard hit, though it doesn't look like Patong . . . an out-of-the-way beach by the looks of it. From the sound of the narration, a private Thai home maybe (the whole family is commenting), or perhaps a hotel high up on a cliff overlooking the beach.

The beginning is quite peaceful, doesn't look like much really, but you can tell that the 'sucking-backward' phase of the tsunami has already begun, with what looks like a very low tide indeed at the beach. The wave(s) hit and the entire bay is soon a swirling mass of incredible power. The end is of course a terrible mess, narration goes silent ... white, bikinied bodies floating.

Quite sobering. (If you want to se the thing in big screen, just hit 'LINK' at the bottom of the video and it will take you straight to YouTube. Then hit the enlarge button at the botom right corner of the video)
