This is my most favorite camp TV show of all time and I never miss it.

The only thing that annoys me is that it is shown in some countries without Terry Wogan doing his devilish talkovers.

For those interested in some Eurovision Song contest history-it shouldn't be forgotten that it was the wacky British pop star Jonathon King who revived it's fortunes and the show owes much to King. King served about 3 years in one of Her Majesties Prisons for..well you can guess..but he has turned his adventures into a film called "Vile Pervert-The Musical" a 90 minute film that is extremely funny at times with all roles played by King and can be downloaded for free at You Tube.

King is currently driving up and down the Croisette in Cannes at the Film Festival in his red Rolls Royce with a huge sign on the roof saying "Vile Pervert".

Ireland have sent Dustin teh Turkey to teh eurovision this year
For those of you who havn't heard of Dustin - he is a puppet from a Childrens TV show... and is brought to life by the same people who did Zig and Zag on teh "Big Breakfast" in the 90's

This is the equivalent of teh UK send Sooty or Bazil Brush to the eurovision

Best thing is - Hes GONNA WIN!!!(not)

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dustin_the_Turkey

This ought to teach all those vote fixing european Block countries that Ireland are kings of the Eurovision (Not)

I had the pleasure of meeting Miss King in the 70's I was in my late teens he was a familliar face in gay London. He used to hang around with another famous guy called Cris Denning who also got into the same kind of trouble. In my opinion he was not guilty of the crime he was convicted of. He was a man in his twenty's who fancied boys of 18 or 19 quite legal in Thailand but at that time illegal in the UK as the age of consent was 21. The so called 18 and 19 year old boys came back to haunt him (on the make) 35 years later he was convicted of a so called crime of having underage boys (he was about 26 the boys 18 or so ) A crock of shit.

L O'B,

I have always found that to be the case before, but that one time the opposite was the case and there was no sign of it at all on MF - now it appears straight away!

According to this (http://www.newstatesman.com/200805070001) sources in Spain are boasting that they fixed the 1968 contest to deny upright Christian, certainly not homosexual, Cliff Richards of victory with "Congratulations".

No one in Ireland has yet claimed that they attempted to fix losing the contest (it's quite expensive to host the following year if you have the misfortune to win) but "sources" can reveal that they are very hopeful of not winning this year. The British have used many tricks in the past, apart from putting one over on the Spanish, the Cliff Richards card; to avoid winning in the past. Some recent ruses have been to sing out of tune and to align with the well-known popularity of cabin crew. Living in splendid isolation on an island, also helps.

Good luck to Bar La Cage on a very interesting concept. I wouldn't give you twopence for a port & lemon however it must be a challenge for the local inn keepers to keep thinking up entertainments to keep you all off the streets in Pattaya. I hope it's a great evening. I am sure we will get reports.

Cheers

Do Europeens know how to make a drink?

A snowball is Advocaat and lemonade. In USA the closest thing to lemonade is 7up. A snowball is a ladies drink and in class conscious Britain a lady who asks for a snowball is looked upon as common by the so called upper classes

Was there any announcement of much this charity night raised for the Mercy Centre?

May 31st, 2008, 14:02
Advertising another Pattaya Gay Party night in aid of Charity, The Mercy Centre, without any indication of the proportion of the profits going to the charity. Let's hope it does better, per head, than the Rotary Club's recent stuff your face evening.

The fund raising for the Mercy Home was done by putting the Mercy Home collecting boxes around the club for patrons to make a donation.

There was no percentage of the event's profits given to Mercy and the total from the collecting boxes was a little short of 8000 Baht.

However in fairness to Le Cage they did not state that a percentage of the profits would go to Mercy Home but that the evening was 'In aid of Mercy Home'. Credit however to Le Cage as they have raised funds for Mercy Home using the collecting box method before.

( how dare you say rent look ! I was nearly murdered once many years ago in Berlin by angry fans for saying I loved Boris Becker because he reminded me of a Reeperbahm rent boy !..when I tried to explain it was the greatest compliment I could pay a person it just made them angrier)

8,000 baht for a small bar like La Cage is actually pretty good going - had it been a "proportion of the profits" - or even all the profits (as distinct from takings) it would have been far less, judging from the numbers I am reliably informed were in attendance for the actual event.

My views on charity raisers are on record, however in this particular case the benefits to both parties (bar and charity) would seem to be pretty fairly divided, which is more than I can say for all such events.
