A crazy thought.... How about the French showing the world they have some "balls"... It is a perfect opportunity to bomb the isolated government compound of the Junta and Gen Thein Sein included... FINALLY get rid of the cancer of Myanmar, and then all the aid and expertise that needs to get into the country can...and a real election takes place. (I know, tempt the Junta with some "aid money" instead with fine French wines.) :compress:

WhatтАЩs it got to do with France? ItтАЩs BritainтАЩs responsibility.

If it was good enough for the British to invade it, colonise it, rape and plunder it resources and people, invade it again (with large scale death and destruction to Burmese lives and property) in a protracted ground war with the Japanese (who wouldnтАЩt have been there in the first place if the British werenтАЩt there), and then they (the British) after doing all of that just get up and fuck off without so much as a backwards glance or sense of responsibility to this sadly blighted country because it now suits them to do so. They will unlawfully attack Iraq to brown nose the Americans but as far as they are concerned their former colonial possession, Burma and the Burmese, can go and get stuffed.

What a piece of work the British are!

You are a tease, so you are. :flower:

I have to admit it was the British who caused the cyclone though. Superpowers, y'know.

It was even worse for New Zealand. Some of the buggers stayed there.

It's not about the British now. Their past has passed.
It's about the Chinese now.
The Chinese Commies have run a highway through the heart of Burma, armed the junta to shoot its own people so they can loot the country of timber, minerals, precious stones and energy resources and whatever else is available.

Current affairs was never Aunty's strong point.
