What do you guys do when you are in places like DJ station and you want to keep your cash, credit card and ID safe?

March 2nd, 2006, 19:17
I know as a foreigner you are supposed to have id with you wherever you go, but I tend to only have id with me during the day, zip locked in my shoulder bag alongside my wallet and credit cards. In the evening I do not take id and have never had a problem getting into anywhere. My credit cards and id are usually locked in the bedroom safe/locker or locked in my suitcase. As for money, in the evening I tend to just carry what I think I need for the night in a zip pocket.

Agree with Fatman, 'cepting I rarely wear pants with zippered pockets.

So the cash for the evening goes into the front pocket(s) ~ never the back. If the little bastards want to get into my front pockets they'll have to get past the ferocious naga snake which also lives close by! :blackeye:

If you're all about keeping to the law (I usually don't) you can carry a colour photocopy of the ID & visa pages of your passport. Takes up little room and does not cause nearly the angst time you'll spend if you lose your real passport.

Cheers ...

I have never carried my passport with me while out and about in Thailand.

Do any of you??

In crowded dark places like freeman and DJ, I slip my wallet into my ankle sock. I also keep just what I need for the night and a little extra.

I know that the front pocket is a better place to carry a wallet, but I just do not like it there.

I was at a side walk market a few months ago in Bangkok, the one opposite ratchadaphisek MTR, and I noticed a lot of real dirty young street kids moving around on the sidewalk. One would block, stand right in front of you and wai for money. Another just out of sight would then come up from the rear and go for a rear pocket inspection as the front kid was tugging on my trousers from the front.

I turned around to see what's behind me, they both suddenly disappeared into thin air.

I moved my wallet to a front pocket and that was also probed. The only place I found out of reach, from these very small children, was my shirt pocket.

The vendors seem to ignore the gang of kids and I wondered if they were being paid off by some adult just out of sight and near-by directing the coordinated approaches.

Once on a train just outside of Prague, I saw an adult with several kids, the train made a station stop, the kids jumped on the end of the first class section and walked back through a few cars and then back off to the waiting adult. I guess they were looking for unattended luggage.

I have found a thin wallet/money clip combo is the best way to carry cash and maybe one credit card in your FRONT pocket. I found this one at Sharper Image and it works great. slim enough to not bug you in your front pocket and has space for a copy of your Passport

Whenever, I'm travelling, wherever, I use a "body safe". It hangs off the belt and tucks inside the trousers. It's big enough for the passport, several cards and two cash compartments. Even so, I don't carry my passport around alll the time and only as much cash as I need for a night out. It means going to the John just before calling for the bill, but I was gonna do that anyway. I don't think nice people flash wads of cash in front of those less lucky.

March 3rd, 2006, 05:38
I use the same wallet as JakeNasty suggests and a separate money clip. All kept in front pockets. Wallet has credit cards, ATM card, health insurance cards and a couple of large denomination traveler's checks.

I don't carry passport when out and about, but do have a color copy of front id page plus my driver's license. Passport stays in room safe.

Never had a problem with this arrangement.

If you're farang, esp. older looking farang that is seen headed to his same old watering hole every night, then it is unlikely that you are going to be asked or stopped without a passport or other ID. But that is not necessarily true for non-Thai Asians.

Wallet in front pocket is enough to make me feel comfortable on those nights that I don't pack the small wallet with copy and no unneeded credit cards, whereever I go in Thailand.

Two years ago, I went to Hollywood Disco with some Thai friends.
On the way back to Silom, our taxi was stopped at a road block. Random check.
Everyone was fine except me. The Policeman asked for my Passport.
My Thai friend explained that I was American, but did not have my Passport.
After some delay the Policeman let us continue.
I asked my Thai friend if the Cop was looking for something to make the problem go away.
He said, maybe, but better "mai pen rai".
This year I carried my Passport...

Between arrival & departure I only carry my passport when going to exchange currency. I carry a photocopy but have never been asked for it.
I carry a thin wallet, that has a flap to conceal large bills, in my front pocket--pinned in if I think I may be in a crowd; for instance, the night Market. But I always have something in my back pocket (Known to dips as the, 'Sucker Pocket.') Four have gone for it; one got a city plan of Barcelonna; one, a section of a Mexican newspaper (I hadn't read, damn it!) one got a packet of tissues and two, working together, went for the paper bag & scraps from my lunch--Don't be a litter-bug--and I'm glad it happened in a public place: the dips were furious and cussed me, and the lady who warned me the plot was afoot, out in French when I showed her what was in my pocket. She and I laughed so hard we had to hold each other up! And I almost forgot...The time in Shephards Bush--But, as it turned out he was just--Must have been a Public School lad--playing a bit of grab-ass.
I only carry a credit or ATM card if I plan to use it--And keep it separate from my wallet.

. . . who hasn't had his cod-piece scouted out ... for cod!?

I just wish they'd go for either of my front pockets (on second thought, which side do I wear 'it'? Left ... or right, can never remember, I have to check). But alas, as far as I'm aware I'm a virgin in this area (I mean getting pocketed), but live for the day of being slyly groped while standing ~ arms overhead ~ in a crowded subway train. Hey, why else would I take those things . . . cute (??) taxi drivers certainly can't manage it (unless I choose the stickshift in the front as a my seat, which just might be interepreted as a tad too pushy. Thais hate pushy).

As I am usually in a state of at least semi permanent erection every waking moment while in Thailand (I refer to this phenom as 'Anticipatory Tourism') I truly cannot understand why my groin regions have never been a target for at least a gentle brushing, while all around me I'm surrounded by far more homely fellow travellers (to wit: the crotch of a so-called "man" named "Edith"!!) who have seemingly had numerous encounters with the Thai trouser snake hunters. And he/she only had bloody money down there!!!

Maybe if I announced I am a Communist our friend Nelson might have a go. I'm that desperate.

What you need is a pair of US Patent number 20050235399. Here is the Abstract:

Underpants for men form a cover cloth and a scrotum pocket outside or inside of the underpants for accommodating a user's scrotum in the scrotum pocket. The user's penis extends through the opening defined at an upper portion of the scrotum pocket and is covered by the cover cloth. The scrotum defines a plurality of holes therein. The penis, scrotum and thigh are separated from each other via wearing the underpants, which can achieve a good effect of heat dissipating, ventilation, dry and clear, and which provides comfortable feeling free of oppressing and convenience to urinate.

The reason why I ask is because on my last trip when I was in DJ station, I was up on the stage dancing. I was wearing overalls that fit very loose. I pulled my shirt off and put it through one of the belt loops and I removed one strap from my shoulder and unbuttoned the sides of the pants so that guys on the side of me could see quick glimpses of the dark shadows inside my pants. When I do this, it is difficult for me to tell if there are hands in my pockets and my front pockets are not so secure since they can fit 2 or 3 hands in them at the same time.... And I was lucky because I was dancing in suck a way that I did feel a tug on my pants and was able to move my body and arms to block the intrusion into my pocket and only caught a glimpse of the guy who was backing away from me with a look of freight and guilt... He tried to pick my pocket...

I was hoping you guys may have known of a product that lets a guy carry some cash but keeps it out of the hands of others...

I was wearing these or my black ones...

Perhaps you should give some thought to working on your own inner sense of spontaneity.
Personally, if I observed a guy in a dance club being so conniving & deliberate with their own perceived intrigue, I'd drop any thought at all of trying to reach for their wallet . . . no matter what pocket it was in. I'd walk away laughing my ass off.

If you were Thai... You would not have to ask hahaha :)

At any rate, I don't mind your comments. I am who I am and I am too old to change now. And I post here events I can't change...

But just for the record... If Orson Wells was wearing cover-alls and had the side panels open flashing his g-string as his body moved in the sea of people and I was near him... I would peek Hahahaha.....

Just remember... Many times to sell the product you need to use special packaging. And my cover-alls never fail and they did not fail me that night either.... I received several offers of 3 and 4 ways that night but passed them up to attend a private party.

Another night a guy followed me out and picked me up before I could get a cab.

Let loose man, ejoy life and act cute and attractive and see what happens.... :geek:

March 5th, 2006, 13:54
Just don't let the hosts of "What not to Wear" catch you wearing coveralls.... LOL

March 5th, 2006, 14:16
And he/she only had bloody money down there!!!

After I learned to roll the wallet properly...I never had another problem; damn it!

And speaking of...interesting...underwear--And we are. Saw some that look like a thong with a (Cloth) comdom attached. The "condom" section(s) come in interesting--But predictable--designs: snake, salami, eel, flashlight; one supposes, and the one I saw: ripe banana--I wonder if there is a gluay lek?...Should be a best-seller in LOS!

PS:
Bucky;
If it was the young Orson Wells, I'd not only peek, I'd drag him off by his coverall straps! Isn't that what they're for?

They are my favorite slut/tramp wear... Right now I have a 32" waist, by the time my trip rolls around I should be at a solid 30" waist.. I may have to take them to a Taylor in Pattaya to have them re-sized so I don't look like a birthday clown in over-sized coveralls hahaha

I can't imagine what clothing I can replace them with but since I will be there for Halloween I can try to come-up with something.

The Thai guy I went to Pattaya with had on a pair of chaps and a leather g-string in DJ station... Ass hanging out and everything.... One hour into the night and he told me Whit a smile that he had already had one blow-job while standing near the dance floor!

Since I am a bottom guy, I don't think I will be walking about with my butt hanging out LOL

But I am very excited this year. This winter was the end of my muscle building and now I am into the tone stage.

Everyday is like Christmas to me to see the changes I find in my body and I plan to track the changes with my web-cam. So every 2 weeks I am updating my web pages and avatar to be my reminder. To remind me to work hard and pray for success :naka:

So far, everything has been positive.....

And it is not easy for me because I loved being a skinny guy.... And I did not want a big body and for a long time I felt the gym was a mistake for me but I continued anyway.

Now that I can see the finish line.... I am happy I did it.

So my progress in the gym will play a big part in what I can get away with in tramp wear... The big question will be......

Where will I keep my money? hahaahaha

March 5th, 2006, 15:04
But I think the more one keeps covered up, the more my imagination has a chance to play, which in turn makes a person much sexier than when they "expose" their shadows. Now Buck . . . don't get me wrong, you're an attractive guy, but I think you'd be better off (and have more places to put your wallet) in that tight fake Armani shirt you spoke of a while back than in those overalls. A small occasional flash of skin does more than putting it all for the world to see. That of course is all IMHO.

By the way, this is the wallet that I use while in Thailand, it has lasted me four years, and it is perfect for my jeans, and the snapping clip makes it easy to get my money in and out without flashing to everyone how much I have.

Cheers

Hey, I don't dress like that every night. Most nights I am fully covered but one or two nights I feel a need to dress like a hooker.

As a matter of fact, I was wearing the cover-alls on the night when a Farang offered me over 10,000 bath for sex (His opening offer) and was also offered the chance to be in a Asian Porn Movie. I turned them both down..... :angel13:
