Is this just for the campaign for mayor of Pattaya or could it be happening, although not yet.
Senior Politician Supports Late Closing for Bars.
The issue of closing times for places of entertainment in Pattaya continues to be a vexed question for business owners and revelers, most of whom are on holidays from parts foreign where bars and the like can stay open into the wee small hours.
Many of these foreign tourists who are responsible for the massive growth and wealth of Pattaya are desirous of being able to stay up late, and donтАЩt appreciate being told they must go home to watch re-runs of B-grade movies on cable TV. Most people have no intention of staying out until sparrow fart, but at least theyтАЩd like the option.
Khun Sontaya, the former member of parliament for Chonburi and currently engaged in helping the campaign of Khun Itipon to run for Pattaya Mayor, told assembled media on Friday that he would like to help keep the cityтАЩs places of entertainment open as long as feasible.
He said he supports the idea of giving Pattaya bars the option of stying open until at least 4:00am but said at present owners and tourists had to understand that 2:00am closing might be here for a little while longer.
