US passports outsourced to Thailand

The Washington Post (http://www.washingtontimes.com/apps/pbc ... e=printart (http://www.washingtontimes.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20080326/NATION/840186493/1001&template=printart)), among other sources, reports that the US State Department has cut costs by outsourcing the production of new passports to foreign producers, including one in Thailand "including one in Thailand that was victimized by Chinese espionage!"

No further comment is possible.

Perhaps there is a plus side...Thai lads may be able to score a US passport for a visit. I can hear it now. "You send 10,000 baht for US passport and I come see you, pleaseee".
