Like a lot of films since the advent of DVD, stuff with limited international release is slowly becoming available to a wider audience.
Just saw this one a few days ago, and was quite impressed. The writer/director definitely knew what he was talking about, and the cast took it from there.
Considerable focus on the Japanese gay host-bar experience makes this a film members of this forum might find extra interesting, along with the cute cast and Asian/Gay themes.
The pivotal scene in the Hotel room near the end had me alternating between getting emotional and cringing at the recognition. Your average audience is NOT going to view this film like those of us who've lived in the Thai cousin of this world.
Apparently, even as a fairly low-budget 'art' flick, it made quite a splash in Japan when it came out. I'd recommend it highly.
