View Full Version : Hotels near Patttayaland : Advice?

February 3rd, 2008, 12:14
Have stayed at Serene and Mike but both well worn these days. Also Welcome but seem to have variable joiner policy. Noticed Lido Hotel down an alley off Beach Road and Honey Lodge off South Pattaya Road, both short walk from Pattayaland. Any experiences of these (or others close to Pattayaland) re rooms, prices and joiners?

Many Thanks

Jim

just giving this a bump in case anyone has any advice.

Thanks to those who commented on my other thread on Cafe Royale. I took a look this morning but seems nothing special for the price.

Any other options near Pattayaland?

Thanks
Jim

i've stayed at the marriott a few times. great value for the money if you're not looking for the budget type places. also stayed at Jim Boutique Hotel about 2 blocks from there on the soi next to Avenue shopping center. both very nice. neither has joiner fee. both highly recommended.

About 4 weeks ago, one of the forum trolls posted a new thread re

http://www.baandm.com/

850 baht and the rooms look OK bigger than most

go to the maps on www.gayaffairspattaya.com (http://www.gayaffairspattaya.com) and look at day night area

The hotel is just a 10 minute walk down South Pattaya Rd to Boyztown or a 3 minute walk to Sunee Plaza

Look for soi VC Hotel on both maps

The hotel map is upside down compared to the gayaffairs maps

Thanks. Price range say Baht 800-1500 but could pay more if everything right.

My strong preference is for Poseiden which is close to Jomtien beach

You have the baht bus at the front door and two motor cycce stands at the door.

Also in the soi is Montys, Bondi some great restaurants , massage places and Dicks coffee lounge

go to the map on gayaffairspattaysa.com look at Jomtien

You will find expats seem to visit this area more than others, due to them owning condos nearby

Montys is a great place to meet people from this forum, meet a genuine guy and hear all the local gossip

You might even get the full story of a former member this forum that did a runner on his bill

Breakfast on the beach is a new experience you should try

I couldn't comment on the specific case, but doing runners on large bills is utterly disgraceful. Just like theft.
Still, I guess they know some thugs who specialise in recovering cash.

This spoils things for the rest of us, as eventually hotels start charging in advance, which is fine until we unwittingly stay in some dive & have already paid up.

You are probably right, I have heard he eats as much as 10 men

several years ago Monty advertised on this forum Xmas Dinner at his pool

Two of the members attending also did a runner

Monty is too trusting, but in this case lucky it wasnt food

Please tell us how long you will be in Pattaya...
that may help us recommend some places to you.

My recommendation - for a week or more....along Dongtan/Jomtien Beach

is a Condo at View Talay 5C ...behind the newer Avalon Beach Resort Hotel

A couple of fellas own several at VT5...check it out!

Rates most reasonable, fantastic sea views, steps to teh beach, large swimming pool
and baht bus 10 baht ride in 10 minutes to Boyztown or Soi VC area (Sunee Plaza).

Enjoy your stay :-)

Thanks for all the replies. Just to clarify, I am looking for something in the Pattayaland area up to Baht 1500 and would like to know about any pros/cons of hotels in area and prices and whether there are joiner fees. Any info on Honey Lodge, Lido, Royal Palace, Royal Twins, others?

Thanks again

Jim

Take a look at the Lek Hotel near Royal Garden. I always stay there and very satisfied. Reasonable rates, a good breakfast buffet, nice sized pool, a short walk to boystown and no joiner fees.
