January 26th, 2008, 03:27
Police arrested a heavily armed kidnap gang Thursday following a 30-minute stand-off at a central Bangkok luxury apartment. The arrests came a day after the gang of rogue border policemen and accomplices released a woman, her family, a friend and an employee following a four-day ordeal. The gang demanded Bt8.68 million for their release, which the woman paid after withdrawing the sum from bank accounts. Kidnap victim Piengjit Peungon, 42, reported the abduction and extortion to Bang Phlat police after she and the others were released on Wednesday. The gang of 13 border-patrol policemen and several accomplices allegedly nabbed the family and the two others from an apartment in The Commonwealth building in Bang Phlat on Sunday.

I must say this sounds all terribly confusing..who was kidnapping who ?. What a dilemna for the honest cops !!

(oh stop giggling Homintern !)

Actually jollyjacktar it's well known that Hommie was cashiered when doing his service..no-one quite knows what the offence was but as he was permanently on KP duty-scrubbing out loos etc ( something he is still fond of doing) it couldn't have been too serious.

Myself-I was drummed out of the Sea Scouts but only because I kept turning up in the wrong socks !!..how dull is that ?..not even a sex scandal involving a scout master.

Four groups of people came forward yesterday to outline cases to Bang Phlat police in Bangkok that they were also victims of the alleged gang led by "rogue" border police officer Captain Nat Chonnitiwanich. The city police chief said the gang allegedly had the support of senior officers, but vowed the investigation should nevertheless yield results within three days.

Can we believe a word of what you write about yourself, Colonel?

Can we believe a word of what you write about yourself, Colonel?Of course you can. You have my niece Aunty to thank for that. It was only a short time ago that Aunty was repeating my life's story and drawing inferences about my character (actually, lack of character) from it. And how would Aunty know that you can trust every word I write? Well, family member, old chap. Don't forget it was Aunty who "outed" the family name - Plonker-Dunce - and followed it up with revealing my sobriquet "Beryl". If Aunty weren't my niece, how would she know such details? You can see how attached Aunty is to me and my nickname "Beryl" by the fact that it's retained in the footer to every post Aunty writes. The origin is now recounted in my Blog - http://www.sawatdee-gay-thailand.com/fo ... .php?e=312 (http://www.sawatdee-gay-thailand.com/forum/weblog_entry.php?e=312)
