I stopped by All-Boys Go Go Bar tonite and was disappointed. Every seat was occupied by customers and
most of the boys were sitting with customers having a good time. One rather large (even by Pattaya standards)
farang had four boys on and around him. I had to leave as it was just too crowded and busy..

Happy Boys was also very crowded with customers and many many boys. It was busy on both levels and many
happy customers all about.

I will try again either early or late. The old All-Boys aka Playboy 2, Hunter Boys was rarely crowded and one could
be the center of attention. Nice looking bunch of boys but most were busy and not my nite. Didn't even see George!

I stopped by during the week too and was quite impressed with some of the boys on display... But Bf was waiting on me so not much time to stop by...

I particularly like the 4 x huge photo-portraits of some of the boys that adorn the walls

George - where did you get these done?
Or did you do them yourself?

Als very impressed with Happy Boys... as per the name all the guys there seemed friendly and happy...

Now if only someone could explain to me what happened to Wild west Boys... Definately the biggest decline in the shortest of time that i have ever seen in a bar...

I agree with you colmx about Wild West. It was a special go go bar with a multitude of hot guys.
I think the opening of two more go go bars on same soi by same owners may have diluted the staff from WWB.

The other big issue is that WWB caters to straight couples and women. Almost all of the eye popping hot guys
have moved on and WWB has lost its way but is probably raking in the baht as the Russians and women of all
nations, flock to see the very tame show and ogle the boys.

Maybe, they will find the magic again in low season, when the women and straights are long gone. Time will tell.. :cat:

The reason you never saw me cat, is that when I arrived, like you, I couldn't get a seat either. http://i167.photobucket.com/albums/u152/GeorgeThai/biglaugh.gif The bar has been very steady since opening night and is as you say, very different to how it was in the past, when it was rarely crowded.

If I can offer any help, perhaps your own suggestion of going either earlier or later, may be a good idea. By the way, I wasn't attempting to blow my own trumpet by my comments above, as I think that my biggest contributing factor to the bars success since renovating it, is probably due to my only spending the amount of time there that I feel is necessary. By doing this, I minimise the risk of spoiling my customers evening, by cutting down their chances of having to see, as well as put up with
me. http://i167.photobucket.com/albums/u152/GeorgeThai/Wink.gif

Thanks for dropping by anyway Cat and I hope that we both manage to acquire seats on our next visit. http://i167.photobucket.com/albums/u152/GeorgeThai/smile.gif

Hi Cat, just thought I would mention here that not only did I manage to find a seat for myself tonight, but also managed to find one next to me, for a very special guest that dropped by with a friend of his from Bangkok. That person was krobbie. If anyone else is given the pleasure of meeting him whilst he is here, let me tell you that they will find him to be one really nice guy, with the same great sense of humour that he displays on the board.

I enjoyed both his and his friends company for about an hour, and whilst they were there took the opportunity of showing them the VIP room. It was pointed out to me by a member of my staff whilst doing this, that I shouldn't linger there for too long, as I would be forced if anyone saw me, to have no other option but to re-name the room. http://i167.photobucket.com/albums/u152/GeorgeThai/biglaugh.gif

Thanks for the visit krobbie, you proved to be everything I thought you would be and more on top. I am glad I got the opportunity to buy you an early birthday drink, as you will be celebrating that event later in the week in Phuket. Choc Dee mate, http://i167.photobucket.com/albums/u152/GeorgeThai/beerchug.gif enjoy the rest of your stay in Thailand and I hope to get the chance of enjoying your company once more, when you return once again to Pattaya. http://i167.photobucket.com/albums/u152/GeorgeThai/biggthumpup.gif Take care.

I realise this thread is primarily about All-Boys bar, and I look forward to paying this bar a visit on my trip to Thailand next month.... and if the pictures posted by George [i think on Tingtong] are anything to go by... I will certainly be setting enough time aside to spend a while getting to know the lads who work there. And just a quick question for George aside, if he reads this.... does the bar encourage Whiskey set-ups with mixers? if so, approx price for 100 pipers?

But I was also interested in Colmx and Cats updated impression of Wild West Boys.... It was a bar when it first opened in it's current location, which I stated in a post that I was 'underwhelmed' at its expansion to larger premises because the type of boys working there being described in many posts including Wowpow's [and therefore knowing his taste for the larger man type] would not be the type of boy I like to see on stage................ as well as the amount of straight couples who were claimed to be attending the shows... which is a relaxing atmosphere killer for me.

But in reply to my post.......I think it was Colmx who advised that I should not be so hasty in rejecting WWB as there was a good mix of gogo boys and not only larger more mature types available. So I did visit it on my last trip in October when a Thai friend asked to go with me to the WWB show... the show was ok... but I'm not really a fan of bar shows... and I was surprised at the range, amount and attractiveness of the gogo boys when they came on stage.

I only went twice and both times it was fine, well attended, and surprisingly very few straights in sight..... so I thought on my coming trip I would try WWB again... only to hear of Colmx and Cat's less than favourable reviews... so what led Colmx to suggest that WWB had the biggest decline in the shortest time that he had ever seen? If it is back to large unattractive guys working there and too many straights in the audience I would prefer to give it a miss.

http://i167.photobucket.com/albums/u152/GeorgeThai/roflao.gif Nice one Oogleman. I hope that you are going to accept full responsibilty for any long term damage to krobbie's health as a result of your post. If he reads this, with the images it could conjure up in his mind, it could cause him nightmares for a very long time to come. http://i167.photobucket.com/albums/u152/GeorgeThai/biglaugh.gif

By the way, BS was with me the whole of the time I was with krobbie I am pleased to say, just in case he reads your post as well. http://i167.photobucket.com/albums/u152/GeorgeThai/tongue.gif

... so what led Colmx to suggest that WWB had the biggest decline in the shortest time that he had ever seen?

Hi Alaan
(and apologies for taking this thread slightly off topic)
I visitied WWB 3 times on my last trip, went back for the 2nd and 3rd times just to mak sure that i wasn't mistaken!

The reason for the decline (in my opinion) is that nobody there seems to give a shit any more!
There was a time when everybody was busy and there was a real buzz about the place - on my last 3 visit the place had become like my BFs house in Issan everybody lazing around and avoiding work!

-Slow and incompetent service
-Not enough gogo boys to fill the stage
-No good looking boys, and those that are left are all "nellies"
-Overweight dancers in the show
-Broken aircon. smokey atmosphere

BF made me leave after 5 minutes on the 3rd trip - he couldn't belienve the decline either

Just booked my next trip to LOS so will be back at Songkran to se if they have managed to turn things around

George:
You still didn't answer my question about the Allboys portraits, i was very impressed with them... where did you get them done?
It seems we were in Vientiane at the same time...
How did you find the night life there?

I particularly like the 4 x huge photo-portraits of some of the boys that adorn the walls George - where did you get these done? Or did you do them yourself?

Hi colmx, the portraits were my own idea and were done by me with the help of a friend. If you or anyone else would like to have one of these portraits done of someone you know, please pm me and I will be only too happy to help and advise you on how this can be done.

Thanks for your comments,

George

And just a quick question for George aside, if he reads this.... does the bar encourage Whiskey set-ups with mixers? if so, approx price for 100 pipers?

Hi Allan, the price of all bottles of our house spirits, which includes 100 pipers, is 900 Baht inclusive of all mixers and ice.

Thanks,

George.

...............................Colmx..... WWB does not sound too promising but I will give it a go again when I visit mid-feb for two reasons...First: a boy who I like very much.. has managed to get himself out of the Pattayaland bar-trade on his own steam, after working in it for 1 year, and still sometimes likes to go to the bars with shows...but as a customer now.. and likes WWB..so I'll go for his sake, as he still regards such a visit as a very welcome treat.

and second: Even though I know the owners/management of WWB have never been particularly supportive of things gay, [it seems they see WWB as a boy bar as opposed to a specifically gay bar..and are happy to cater to whoever is prepared to pay money to visit there] and although the bottom line has been to jump onto whatever bandwagon produces the cash, the fact that they took a chance to get a decent size boy bar up and running...then I'll spend some money there as I always try and spread my custom around.. but more personally.. whilst this bar was run as Planet Rock [a female gogo bar], they employed two excellent guitarist friends of mine to play on the outside veranda.. to give it the 'authentic rock band feel' and they looked after them well, at a time the guys needed cash, they were also very good to myself any boys/guys I offed from the Pattayaland boy bars who were into music ,and went there to have our requests played. If I remember correctly they charged us only Bt60 for our Heinekens at that time.

............George thanks for that.. a bottle it shall be..so much easier if spending a decent length of time in a bar, as well as being able to make your drinks to your own 'spec'.... but when I do visit All-boys in 2-3 weeks time it will be on my own!

I will post reviews when I return.
