Been in Thailand a month and looking for some friends

Hi everyone,
I've been in Thailand just over a month now, i'm English, my name is Bryan and i'm 25 and i work in the IT industry in an office just outside Pattaya, since arriving and starting work i have been doing anywhere from 10-16 hours a day which has left me next to no time for socialising or even really being able to go out much and have a look around, plus cause how work has been i haven't even had a chance to get to meet many people just basically one other English guy who works in the same office but he's straight, which is a shame as he's really cute (only joking Andy if you're reading this!!!!).

Anyway work has calmed down a bit now and i should from this coming week be just doing sensible hours and if i'm really lucky only 5 days a week, so if anyone is in the Pattaya area and would like to meet for a drink, go out or show me around it would be much appreciated. Also how do people find Pattaya as in is it gay friendly and will i be able to relax just being myself??? If anyone wants to meet up if you send me a pm, i'll pm you back my phone number.

I think they used to be attached to the old weekly report, but maybe they might be welcomed back.

I would be very careful on who you pick as friends in Pattaya, there are some very strange people who pretend to be your friend and then start to crucify you, behind your back, There are very shallow people who only want to know you if they think your rich or can do someting for them, but on the other hand, there are some wonderful guys in Pattaya, who would do anything to help you, even if you just lost your shirt on a boy.

Some bars who have Hunks on a good day? Crystal Boys, ABOMB, "Wild West Boys" some times Dream Boys, , If your lucky, Sawadee Boys. 10 times a year, Toy Boys have something special. They have been known at Royal House Massage.
Last, but not least "Guys" should have, if they dont they wont last long.

Gary the owner of The V.I.P Corner Bar Sunee Plaza, after 9p.m is also such a genuine guy and will show you the locals good, bad, Ugly and fun and amusing. A nice guy who visits regular is Jimm Jimmy, who owns one of the best Bars, around Jimm Jimmies nice genuine guy. Plus the ever helpful Ralf and Jack from the old memories fame.

Then Try George at ALL BOYS, another down to earth Guy, he will put you right, BUT, if your ever in trouble or want to know where to get help, try Jimmy who Runs BOYZ BOYZ BOYZ another helpful guy, if he thinks your a genuine guy, he will do anything to help, but beware, he cant stand Bull shitters. and Mick from Cafe Royal, nice genuine guy, Tim from Panorama/Funny Boys, Nice Guy also.

Peter from Crazy Pub is fun on a good day and has lots of stories to tell, Tony from White Night a Gem of a man. also if you get a chance to meet Marsha ex of TOPMAN another fun guy, as is Kevin Ex Owner of THROB?SLASH.

David at Oscars one or the best Guys around and if you go to the Thais4life book shop, you will meet Pattayas Number one nice Genuine guy, Wally, now he is the king of most genuine guys, you can take his word as gospel. If you ever get a chance to meet Wow Pow another nice genuine guy, as is Gay Thailand owner, the crap that rich man, has to put up with, I don't envy him.

There is so many different groups of people, around Pattaya, try the Jomtiem Beach, you may be lucky to meet good friends. on the other hand you may be unlucky to see The Horrors of Pattaya, this is where they Gossip about people and try to bring them down with forse rumors as you have probably seen here and other sites?

you are unlikely to meet many people here (Pattaya) who are English, living here, in your age group, and gay - although you should find a lot of Thais who fit that bill, who will be very good company, and (apart from in the places listed above!) who are happy to be-friend a farang their own age without any financial consideration. Most English gay residents will be between two and three times your age.

Pattaya is totally gay friendly (or at least as friendly to gays as to anyone else!) and you will certainly be able to relax just being yourself - or, indeed, anyone else, as many here choose to be!!

If you want information on most things here, other than bars, PM me, but I am not interested in meeting for a drink, going out or showing you around - neither am I cute!

please bare in mind that, its hard to find younger male friends who are not thai, as most dwellers are retired, hence there older age,

if you do find them similar age, the onother problem is, as you have already pointed out, is their sexuallity too

Bryan, I am also one of those "few" GWM that works near Pattaya and rents an apartment here and not old enough to retire ; thus my interests are a lot different than a gay who comes here on holiday or some retired fellow who is sitting at Sunee Plaza or at Dong Tan Beach discussing the newest go-go boy bar that opened or gossping about someone I couldn't care about. Pattaya really has no gay bar scene like we have in the States or Europe--where you go for a drink and may meet another person(Thai or Westerner) that also lives in the community and is busy working. Panorama Bar in Boystown is the closest you'll find but most it is basically full of older tourists or Thai money boys that are out looking for a trick. Whenever I get the chance, I hop on the bus to Bangkok (easy) on Friday night and hang out along soi4. There, I have been able to meet guys my age,late 40's (Asian and Westerners) that work in the Bangkok area (not all on holiday or retired). Since I like the clubs and dance music, I find myself at DJ's (soi 2) around 11:30pm and then at G.O.D. after 3:00am- getting back to the hotel by 5am. If you like cubbing or just hanging out at a bar, then Bangkok may be your weekend refuge. But there are a lot of fellows that enjoy going to the boy-boy clubs every nite and listening to the boring singer at Cafe Royal in Pattaya.

You're probably at the stage where I was when I first came here three years ago... curious about all of the gay go-go boy bars in Pattaya...after a while, they will all seem to be the same to you. I don't like "paying" for my "romances" so I may go there with my buddies once in a while for fun (we like Boyz, Boyz, Boyz) but they're not a weekly event. I'd rather spend my time and money in Bangkok.

I could give you more suggestions, tips, but I have discoverd with this forum there are always critics ( vultures) ready to misconstrue what one says. :bounce:

I'm handsome. congenial and will keep you enraptured with saucy tales. I don't gossip about Pattaya residents because I don't remember anything. I take that back..I can tell you all about TitBits but it's only the nicest things ..you would do no better than to arrange to meet him when he's down from Bangkok..knows the town like the back of his hand.

I'd recommend getting to know Peter at Krazy Dragon as well. Ignore any whisperings-he knows more about this town than anyone.
