Junta foils Thaksin's poll hopes
Peter Alford, Tokyo correspondent | December 22, 2007

FIFTEEN months after Thailand's generals overthrew prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra, the election to reinstate democratic process is being undermined by military manipulation to prevent his return, says the international civil liberties watchdog Human Rights Watch.

HRW has accused the interim military regime, Council for National Security, of systematically harassing Samak Sundarajev's People's Power party and Thailand's Electoral Commission of failing to respond to clear evidence of military interference.

## I know-you're asking where's the gay Pattaya angle in all this. Well life just went as normal didn't it after the "coup" despite dire predictions from some members that all hell would break loose in the go go bars.

Another odd thing-it was straight after the coup that Dame Sanitree Na Parkin ( so-called "high society hostess" in Bangkok) The Colonel ( a mysterious military figure ) and Pearl of the Orient ( some old slapper) all disappeared from the Sawatdee forum..overnight.
Many said they were all one and the same person or intelligence operatives..working in collusion with the junta now running Thailand and their work completed-are off on another dangerous mission.

Who knows..certainly they were all crazy as bat shit. :dontknow:
