View Full Version : New Year's Eve in the Big Mango

December 16th, 2007, 08:41
I will be arriving in Bangkok on New Year's Eve, 5PM. Even after a 17 hour flight from JFK, I will be READY!! Any suggestions for New Year's Eve?? The "4-handed massage" sounds like just what the doctor ordered. Best place to arrange?? Any special happenings at the bars or restaurants?

This will be the beginning of a 2-month sojourn, away from the cold and snow of New England - Pattaya mostly (boys waiting there); also Samui (first time there - any suggestions?); and Patong Beach/Phuket where another friend also awaits.

Last time in LOS March 2007 - quite anxious to return!

See the calendar on this link, the usual places are having the usual parties. I am sure all the soi Twilight places will put up some sort of decorations and call it a party too.

As for larger celebrations, there's not been much publicity. There was an article in the post about concerns of another bombing and increased security and cameras. It has to put a damper on the whole event.

I am sure, somewhere in Bangkok there will be a fireworks display. They also wisely keep the MTR and BTS running all night.

... it will all be hugely over-priced - 3000 baht entrance fees and that sort of thing. I go to bed

BTS (Sky train) anounced today that they will only be open to 2am on New Year's Eve. No word on what the MTR (subway) will be doing.
