Anyone ever been to Istanbul, Turkey? Any reports on the gay life there?

A wonderful, wonderful city with a very active - if publicly discreet - scene.

Google for "gay Istanbul" and you will see masses of information come up.

The Aquarius Sauna is worth visiting. There was a very active seat-swapping cinema on Istiklal Caddesi (on the left side as you're heading north). Beware, though, of Taksim Square: I know of two people who were separately mugged (with knives) by someone they picked up there after dark.
