MrMac hotel located between Pattaya and Jomtien (walking distance to both) very clean and no hassles or fees 800 baht for standard room and 1000 for deluxe room.
I just booked a room there myself again for Januari :)

Highly recommend Mr Mac. Nice staff; no problem with visitors.

Ask for Room VIP-3. It's on the top floor and opens onto a roof deck. Although other guests have access to the deck, I almost never saw anyone else using it.

The location is also perfect: between Boystown and Jomtien, on the main road.

Last time i stayyed at Mr Mac was a few yeras ago when the Sky Bar was up top, it was good then but has no elevator so it can be a long climb up the stairs.
I love the Ambience in Pattayaland soi3 or Thai Garden hotel just before you get to Jomtien.

Welcome Plaza - stayed there about 1 year ago. It is in desperate need of renovation (and deinsectification). Also if you are in a backside room facing Soi 15 expect noise from construction works. Front side rooms have sea view, so they tend to fill up quickly.
The rooms are quite big and they have no joiner fees. Many straight/gay guys with overnight visitors, always big pile of ID-cards next to the security guard.
Price was around 700B without breakfast.

just jow far ?? I do have friends constantly asking and after my last 2 restaurant recommendations they think I'm balmy.

Naturally they would expect to be treated like VIPS ! ( despite being pretty trashy folk)

is there a websire for Mr Mac ?

I disagree about the location and the previous poster who suggested it is walkable. A guest here will have to rely on baht buses. The road has always been very busy and is now often grid-lock in the late afternoon and evenings with the road widening project. I would not suggest to anyone (except a young backpacker) that one can walk to Boyz Town or JomTien for the evening in Pattaya's climate.

The Welcome Plaza, BT hotels (Serene, for example) or Howard's would be better choices. In JomTien, perhaps the Bondi, Poseidon, or a studio at View Talay.

Thanks for the help.

Like the reports of the Ambience & Mr Mac.

Also been contacted by the owner of The Two Guys & note they seem to get good reviews.

I trust the guys from the bars don't mind where they go back to?

I am not sure about prices at these places. especially in high season they may be over your chosen budget.

Try Soi 9, the Police Station, they haven't got around to en suite yet!
