For those of you in Bangkok tonight, there are two Pride events.

Silom Soi 4 is having another Pride Party, with Filipino singers, fun & games, and a Miss Jumbo contest for those turned on by mountains of wobbling flesh. (I see that every morning in the mirror so maybe I should enter!)

Just down the road, there's the 'Pride Bash' in Silom 2/1 and GOD disco. Booths from various outlets including Babylon will have food, drinks, and other stuff (wonder if Babylon have set up a dark room?), while inside GOD from 9pm there will be dancing and live shows until the small hours. I think there's a 100 baht cover charge.

I went to Soi 4 tonight and saw the Miss Jumbo contest. Funny - yes, cruel - probably, but everyone including the lardy ladies were smiling and I had a blast. So many photographers around at times you couldn't see the big birds though.
About 1230 I walked up Silom to DJ and looked into Soi 2/1 but there did not seem to be much going on. But DJ was very busy tonight so I guess that GOD will get their 2 hours of crowd at about 3.00am after DJ closes.

Make up your own minds which was the most successful party?
But Pride fans and organizers need to know that DJ Station was busier than both events combined, so the moral of the story is ..........?

as I have said before, its time to let it die.
I think one might already have died in that picture of the geriatrics sitting outside @Richards.
The sight of those slender legs and Papa Jim on the catwalk in shorts was too much for the old ticker.

There's a hint of high season in the air, it was Saturday night and DJ would have been busy without Pride. The Gay Thai and visiting Gay Asians just don't go for events organized by old(er) paunchy white fellas in shorts and sandals.

The Moral of this and similar stories is that the bulk of the community doesn't support pride and isn't really interested - as I have said before, its time to let it die.

Agreed, RIP Pride Bangkok. But, with the vested interest in some of the organizers, I bet it will be around next year.

I was in Soi 4 for the Jumbo Queen contest. It filled me with something, but it certainly wasn't "pride".

Which one's Smiles?

He's the one still in Canada wondering how even you (limited mental capacity and all) haven't been following the multiple posts indicating he's a week or so away from heading for the Land of Smiles.
