No remaining XXX cinemas remaining in Bangkok proper. There are some in the nearby provinces that may or may not show them occasionally -- depending on the law enforcement atmosphere.

XXX DVD's can be purchased from street vendors around Patpong, and in Panthip Plaza, among other places (though the latter does not have as many man-man titles).

At least porn with Thai / Asian actors involved is a strict NO with the police.

Therefore Asian hard core are very rarely shown in sauna venues etc..

Nevertheless, there still is a robust porn industry, production is mainly based in Nonthaburi.
There is also a busy copy gang in Pattaya, "management" is based in View Talay ...

Not ALL you need but well worth a look, plenty of gay sex too. Good quality.

Look carefully and you will find a display shelf of many great gay-themed feature films on original VCDs/DVDs in this shop smack in the middle of the huge Mahboonkrong Shopping Center. Ask the staff for a catalogue - they have a volume with those titles we know you have been looking for, from Lan Yu to My Own Private Idaho - and enquire about the delivery options if the title is not in stock.

3rd Floor, MBK Center near Siam Square, Bangkok.

Reminds me of the Police General who said that there was no prostitution in Thailand.

I think you're remembering incorrectly. It was a female government minister who went on a reconnaissance mission to Pattaya, and came back to say that she saw no evidence of any prositution there.

Many (Many) years ago, a Police General in answer to a question from a TV reporter stated that "there is no prositution is Thailand".

We can not find any "BROTHEL" mark on the sex shops here as in other nation ,
But I believe Thailand havs the biggest amount of sex workers in the world .

The Police Officer insisted the boys and girls in go-go bars are dancers not prostitutes ; the steward and stewardess in body massage parlors are masseurs/masseuses not prostitutes ; the hustlers or escorts on streets are cruisers not prostitutes !

Thailand agreed to join a US-initiated regional network to combat intellectual property crimes after a US-led meeting in Bangkok this week.

The US Department of Justice and the US Patent and Trademark Office teamed up with Asean countries at the four-day meeting to establish the regional Intellectual Property Crimes Enforcement Network (IPcen).

Its stated aim is to build on the success of the G-8 collaboration a decade ago, said Sigal Mandelker, the department's deputy assistant attorney-general for the criminal division.

Enhanced contacts between law enforcement officials would result in better information sharing and arrests of wanted criminals, said Ms Mandelker.

"To be successful in addressing the global concerns, we need to target and pin down multinational cases or large-scale organised criminal syndicates. But so far such a [law enforcement] network is hardly found here," she said.

"The 1997 meeting of the G-8 law enforcers helped us establish individual and agency expert contacts that could make a rapid response to calls for help. After the Bangkok meeting, we will develop such a network in Eastern Europe," Ms Mandelker said.

Sixty high-level police and customs officials and prosecutors from 13 countries have been participating in the conference, which ended yesterday, to exchange best practices and lessons learned in addressing

- retail counterfeiting and piracy;
- the mass production and distribution of counterfeit goods such as optical discs;
- Internet-based intellectual property theft, and, -
- border enforcement; and communication channels to promote multinational prosecutions serious offenders.

James Entwistle, minister counsellor of the US embassy in Bangkok, said Thai officials co-operated well with the US and the rest of the world, but the size of the IP crime problem was so overwhelming that a regional network was necessary.

James Finch, assistant director of the US Federal Bureau of Investigation's Cyber Division, said counterfeit products not only hurt the economy, but are also a serious threat to the health and safety of everyone.

Christopher Sonderby, the Justice Department attache{aac} at the US embassy, said IP crimes cost billions of dollars annually. The region needs to look at safety issues stemming from fake pharmaceuticals, batteries or airplane parts, he said.

Pol Col Narat Savetanand, the Department of the Special Investigation's commander in charge of IP cases, said Thailand already shares intelligence information under the Interpol framework.

also where XXX dvd's can be purchased?

On Silom, night time, every 100 meters or so you will meet a boy who will say very fast "dvd-cdv-sex-boy-lady" and if you don't respond he may add lady-boy. Just nod and follow him. 100B or 6 for 500B plus 100 for the dvd-boy.

If you want someting cheaper take the MRT to Huay Kwang after 10pm or 11pm and on the street market xxxtapes are usually on display. After 12 might be better but the MRT closes at 12, after that a taxi will run you 100B or so to the Silom area.

.

As Trongpai says, Silom Road is bustling with vendors selling porn movies of an evening. The guys usually start around 5.30 pm and are there until well after midnight.

I wander home along Silom Road after work most weekdays and the chubby guy who stands outside of Body Shop appears to be in charge of the others who work the KFC to Boots the Chemist stretch of Silom Road. I can't vouch for the quality of the movies but at 100B you are not going to get great quality stuff unless you are very lucky.

Exactly. If you buy some, just take them to your room, have a quick test and exchange the faulty ones next day. You will not get any money back but new copies, which are maybe of better quality.

My general recommendation:

Buy all you need soon after your arrival and try all out immediately. If you find faults, just return as soon as possible and ask politely and calm for an exchange. There is usually no problem.

If you don't like the selection on Silom, street vendor side, cross the road, Silom Complex side and it's a different (smaler) operation, same M.O. Starts at Convent Road to Silom Complex.

And, before anyone asks, yes some of the dvd-sex boys will go wif you to your loom for the usual short time prices.

I have been told that a tip to the dvd boy is expected if you just look and don't buy.
