Due to the Tam Bon Administration (OrBorTor) elections sale of alcohol will be banned in eight tambons holding elections on Sunday until midnight. The eight affected tambons are Chalong, Koh Kaew, Cherng Talay, Mai Khao, Srisoonthorn, Thepkrasattri, Sakoo and Kamala but not Phuket Town, Patong and Kata-Karon.
On Dec 23, 2007 all of Thailand will be "dry" due to general election as soon as the king signs the royal decree today or tomorrow. Some days before all of Thailand will be in a massive rush since voters can only go to the ballots at there home address. For this reason expect traffic congestions everywhere combined with slow service due to lack of staff at any tourist destination. Peak season will have an interesting start. ..
