View Full Version : Do you have a pair of Crocs

September 10th, 2007, 07:18
On my recent trip to Pattaya, I noticed the beach venders selling all different colours of these plastic (actually made from a substance known I think as Crosite). Anyway up and down the beach these could be bought, at the time I though "no no no", pink and orange and red and blue, purple and yellow and green. I thought Pattaya is the only place selling these, how unique. But "no no no", they are all the range in the UK, sold in shoe shops, QVC, you name it. They are thinking of banning hospital staff from wearing them, for one reason or another. Apparently, they are a worldwide sensation, 1 million users.

Have you got a pair!!

and gardening. But I wouldn't wear them around town, to go out in,
tho I guess I would if I was just hanging at Bamboo or at Panroma

They have more traditional "flip-flop" styles as well and I think more attractive then
what you I remember from years ago at the Jersey shore (USA).

The Beach is the first style they did; the cayman is a little less bulky looking.

Check out the sunglasses that convert to goggles as well.

(and they have knee-pads as well!)

This picture was posted on the board back in June. Seems he's got his finger on the pulse of fashion!

$40 US or ┬г20 for a pair of plastic flip flops. Outrageous! Just the latest in 'fashion' industry/designer label rip-offs!

Reminiscent of the 'Swatch' con trick a few years back.

rumour has it they originally planned to call them "crock of shit" but they decided the fashion-addicted might catch on so they kept the outrageous price but shortened the name!

I think you guys have it a bit backwards. The people who WON'T wear Crocs are the the ones who are fashion-obsessed. Those of us that put comfort over fashion love them. I'd wear them every waking hour if I could. Give them a try, and I bet you'll say the same thing.

I would'nt say they are the latest fashion accessory, as in Armani, Gucci etc, as they are wide across the board people who wear them as a bit of an essential, such beach wear, comfort zone shoes, must admit a rip off at ┬г29.99 or more, but then the person who invented them probably spent quite a few hours on them - good luck to him, he is probably a millionaire now.

They are twice as comfortable as shoes double their price. I call that a good deal!

Not while they look like something drawn by Hannah Baberra.

I agree that they're ugly as sin, but I put comfort over fashion. Try them, and you'll forget what they look like.

the fake ones they have in Pattaya can be had for 150baht. CROX has been a great stock to hold over the past year, but this thread is clearly a sell signal...too many people are aware of it now.

I have a pair ,, green ,,, not pretty , but if i need to go out in the rain,, they are perfect. Also if I need to walk on wet grass for a brief time the crocs are great.
