View Full Version : And now for an "out" American congressman

September 3rd, 2007, 04:12
The Weekend Edition of the Financial Times has an interview with the "out" gay Congressman (and my favourite American politician after Bill Clitoris), Barney Frank (who is described as "brusque" - definitely a characteristic I admire). Fortunately the FT does make some of its weekend content available online, and the interview is at: http://www.ft.com/cms/s/0/a4d06de4-56b8 ... fd2ac.html (http://www.ft.com/cms/s/0/a4d06de4-56b8-11dc-9a3a-0000779fd2ac.html)

Barney is great. He attended my Birthday party last month at a great Thai Resturant in Orange County, California: Thai Nakorn.

God, you guys keep it up you will make a Democrat out of me, I have not voted Democratic since the 70,s But I am a neo-Conservative. I like Conservative economics while disliking Conservative platforms based on social issues. Often it is hard to delineate between the two.

Good for you Wesley, it is most certainly a good time for a change of heart and Parties.

Republicans used to pride themselves on economic conservatism and personal freedom.....today's Republican Party is the exact opposite: fiscally and and socially irresponsible spending like drunkin sailors.....and trying mightily to jam everyone into the christian rights vision of correct human behaviors.

To be Gay and a Republican today is like being Black and joining the Klan, or Jewish and joining the Nazi Party. But then again, self hatred has always run wild in the closeted gay community, so why should we be surprised by the Senator Craig's and the Representative Foley's of the Republican Party, or some of the silly old right wingers we see sitting in Thai Go Go Bars feeling up some boy while pontificating about the great Bush, his war and the Republican social message.
