In the coming weeks I will seek to take photos
(with their permission of course to post them on this forum)

of many of the Massage Boys of Dongtan Beach...
and I invite others who have such pics to post them here too....

Todays photo is of JUAB and he is an experienced Massage Boy...
I can vouch for his on beach massage skills :-)

And, in chatting with him I learned he also is an experienced
Room Cleaner...Maid...he does this to supplement his income -
especially during the low seasons.

He says he has cleaned many rooms and houses in Pattaya...
and his basic rate is 200 baht per hour for cleaning room...
and he is negotiable for multi-hours and sizes of rooms and homes.

His mobile phone number is 086 884 9410..
and he welcomes your calls for Massage appointment on the beach...
or room cleaning estimate for you.

JUAB of Dongtan Beach

His rates for beach massage (in your chair or on the sand)
are 200 baht per hour; 100 baht for 30 minutes

I noted he was very busy yesterday following my beach massage on the sand for one hour...
he did 2 more in chair massages soon after....
and had a big smile as he did his duty :-)

Cleaning room for 200 TBT per hour? JUAB must be the highest paid room cleaner in Thailand. A god cleaner in Pattaya will not earn that much in a day (without tips while working in an hotel).

Cleaners catering to farang condo owners usually charge by the room but on total their rates are similar to 200 B per hour. It is a very high rate for Thailand, and another case of where farangs are taken advantage of. Also, in his case, I would be surprised if brings his own supplies/equipment which is something you would normally expect of a pro cleaner. Consider what a 7 11 clerk earns all day, about 200 B?

That's average. Many Thai pay even less, especially upcountry.
Food and basic accommodation is included.
Thai usually prefer maids from Cambodia, Laos or Myanmar since they cannot go back that easily and are therefore practically available around the clock at any day.

Any way you cut it, these condo cleaners are literally taking us to the cleaners.
And there seems to be a monopoly as well. I have never received a Thai price level quote.

Perhaps, but they are also given free full-time room and board. And are very happy with it, thanks very much!
BS! They aren't happy with it. They are practically slave labor. I am not happy with either end of these extremes, hisos treating people like slaves, or Thai cleaners treating us as dumb suckers.

Nice looking guy. Is he a prostitute, or just a masseur?

If I rememeber correctly, is he from Ubon and used to live and work in Sri Racha. A very nice young man with a happy personality. I haven't seen him for several years. Good to know he is still around. I shall invite him for a nice Thai dinner I see him next time.

Well RAKSIAM,lets work this out.

I live in Sydney City in my studio apartment,if i hire a cleaner,it will probaly be i guess about $60 one hour?
The 7 eleven clerk down the street would earn i guess $120 a day?

So your probaly right,im not sure how much pro cleaning companies such as TIP TOP charge?
They were selling franchises at one stage.

As you have never hired or paid for a cleaner what would you know.

Cleaners non franchisees, usually are between A$15-25 per hour. usually bring their own equipment
because cheap charlies like you dont have vacuam cleaners, mops brooms etc.

Franchisees charge A$25 per hour usually minimum of 2 hours and pay a third to the franchise owner.

For your studio, rubbish removal and specialist cleaners would want A$60 if they would do it.

They do have some pride. I pay 250 baht per hour minimum 2 hours, to clean my condo.

Cleaners her and in Australia are self employed and do not have holiday pay, long service leave, sick pay, holiday and shift loading and superannuation that you brag about. they also cannot afford to come to Pattaya and rip off workers, who just want to make enough to eat and pay for a shared room.

200 baht per hour for a maid/cleaner in thailand seems very high. The going rate for part time maids in hong kong is HK60 per hour, ie at current exchange rates not much more than 200 baht, and many work for less than that. In fact my Chinese maid just left with her HK240 for four hours.. Compare the cost of living between the two places and 200 baht is a great deal for anyone in thailand lucky enough to get it.

Strangely, thereтАЩs many thousands of thai maids who leave their families and come to work in hong kong for the higher wages. Obviously they donтАЩt know they can stay in pattaya and clean foreigners apartments for the same money!

I own and rent apartments in Pattaya/Jomtien area and do pay 200 to 250 baht per room for cleaning a 48sq meter studio. This will usually take between 1 to 1.5 hours to clean. The difference is there is no guarantee for the cleaner(s) that they will get to clean any rooms on any given day where your maid in HK is guaranteed a certain amount of hours per week work.

Yes 200 baht per hour for an 8 hour day for 5 to 6 days a week would be a very good salary - but trust me they will be so lucky to average 1 cleaning per day.

but I would assume a large shopping bag would suffice, most arse looks he same and unless over used it feels the same . However I assume if they are trying to make a legitimate living on the beach they are trying not to get involved in the sex trade. I find the not so cute ones make much better lovers any way. The cute ones know it and take it to bed with them. The not so cute know it and aim to please you more than look good for you ..

I've always considered the massage boys to be on the same level as freelance boys at the beach. I have never taken a boy from the beach do to security reasons and very seldom go with a non gogo boy as I like the ability to go back to the bar if there has been a problem with the boy. In 13 yrs of travel I have only had to do this once. With the economy getting worse and the jobs and farangs getting fewer their is probably going to be more and more chance for violence.
