Have stayed at Club 17 in Phuket several times. It is a home away from home. The staff is excellent. The manager, Daniel, does everything he can to make you feel at home. There is a nice pool area/garden in the back of the building, with a great happy hour. The rooms are nice and very comfortable, each with it's own theme. (You can see them all on the internet site http://www.cluboneseven.net )

There is an onsite restaurant, and breakfast for two is included in the price of the room. There is beverage service throughout the facility, including a roof top hottub in a clothing optional area. Arrangement for food service can be made also.

The whole staff is really nice, and they will bend over backwards to make your stay enjoyable.

I am going back the end of August for the strait games.

Small downside is that it is on the fairly noisy main road through town ~ though not in the noisest part of it. And a reasonably long walk to the Paradise Complex, as well as the gay area on Patong Beach.

Our beloved Moderator jinks stays there all the time, and may chime in (no ... take that back, not "may", he WILL chime in) here when Britain wakes up.

Cheers ...

OK, I up and just about awake..... I don't want to disappoint Smiles.....

The noise factor in the front rooms is high if you are a light sleeper.
The pool is a "splash pool" not a swimming one.

There is Wi Fi and a house computer for guest use.
The restaurant food is fully Thai if you ask.

Helpful, attentive staff and "nothing is too much trouble" attitude from Daniel the Owner/Manager.

WALK.... .......

Never ......

It's 4 minutes in tuk tuk to the Paradise centre and 2 minutes to the beach.

I will be there from Dec 26 for New Year after getting away from Smiles.
We are going to suffer each others company for a few days over Christmas.

Jinks, are Canadian swampers appropriate footwear at the beach?

I'm sure this place is a decent place but, given one is going to Phuket (you know, nice sandy beaches, etc.), why not stay at a motel/hotel right on the beach? All the beach units have a huge pool just to the west and noise factor is very low.

I do wonder why one pays a premium to stay in a 'gay' guesthouse. I have yet to stay in a guesthouse, anywhere in Thailand, that hasn't made both me and my Thai friend feel very welcome.

P.S.
jinks, thanks for the photo, but which one is you?

The noise isn't a factor in the rear facing rooms, and isn't a huge factor on the front rooms unless you are a very light sleepr. The walking time to Paradise is less then 15 minutes, either baht bus or motorcycle taxis are very quick.

I like the beach, but staying in a gay facility is well worth the effort. At Club 17, you are made to feel so at home, that the little distance to the beach and Paradise are insignificant.

I have this Guesthouse included in the 'Recommended' section of the Topman website.
