It just ain't going to happen - certainly not whilst Brown is PM. He was, when he was Chancellor of the Exchequer, the one who stopped Blair from joining the euro. I'm sure he will see to it that when the time comes his successor will be like-minded. If (a big if) the Tories get back at the next election you can forget any notion of the UK joining the euro.

I fail to see what effect at all the UK joining the euro will have on the USA and Americans on a pension ?

"they" said by not joining the Euro, Britain would lose out economically quite drastically. Britain has actually done better being out of the Euro.
