I dropped in the new Screw Boys tonight. This is the new, new, new one which is at the old location, Patpong 1, Bangkok. The interior has been remodeled. I was surprised on a weeknight to see quite a few customers. The bar seems bigger. Comfortable semi-private seating and a few stages. There were maybe 25 boys, I did not count, and although everyone has a different definition of good looking, I would say above average, all types except fems and lady boys.

The bar is very much hands on and the new seating design facilities that activity nicely. The original Screw boys had some negative posts about a certain mamasan who is now apparently gone.

There was a show of sorts, maybe 15 min. Two boys chuck-wow, then the same two erotic dancing. Then two others do a standard fuck show. I guess you could say three acts.

I did not see one boy or staff smoking, cigarettes that is. Music level moderate.

Drinks are 200 TB.

The boys approach, say hello, shake you hand but are not aggressive. They don't sit with you uninvited but if you stare at one your inviting him over. Very nice bar overall, friendly and I recommend giving it a try.

Give mt fond regards to DOM...if he is there.

It is to be hoped that their management practices have changed. It used to be the biggest rip-off gay bar in Bangkok, especially in padding the bar chits for non-existant drinks and 'fines' for bar boys sitting with you, even if they were not eventually 'offed'. Glad the old mamasan has gone - maybe she was the major instigator of these practices?

I have been a frequent guest at the Screw Boy Bar, especially with friends who want to see some bits of naughty Bangkok. Many went back alone but I never ever got any negative comment.

Prices where just about the same as any other local boy bar but not as high as Dream Boy or any other of the BBB bars.

The bar was usually very popular, especially around midnight. The boys where the typical average local bunch.

Sadly, I think it is not just her... A friend has been several times since it reopened, and has complained that they are constantly adding drinks for the mamasan and 'captain' (what does one call a klatoey captain?). And the practice of the pathetic (non-boy) staff begging for drinks still goes on. Pity that these wretches don't understand just how many customers they are driving away.

Mamasans are as worthless at tits on a bull in my opinion. They all can annoy and beg for drinks. You only get lucky when they are occupied with some other poor farang. Otherwise just tell them to go away and if does not work, walk out.

I also don't make eye contact with them and when they speak to me I don't answer. Question one what's you name, two, where you stay and three, buy me a drink? Don't answer one and two and you will not get asked three.

I was there twice in the past week to the new screwboys and never had a problem with any "mamasam" or boy or captain pushing for drinks. Have seen that written about at other times on this board in regards to other bars--as some stated at that time, pushy mamasan and captain problems are easily solved--and it doesn't have to involve any nastiness, just be assertive and not be a pushover for some pushy employee--why would anyone let a mamasam dictate your enjoyment in any bar?

My one complaint with the new screwboys back into the old location was the lighting--quite dark overall, making it all that more difficult to see the lads--very few ladyboys or fems there, it appears, as someone mentioned.

Most people who hang out in bars like this would probably prefer to remain in the shadows.

The darkness along with the semi private high dividers between the seats is what makes it a hands on bar. Keep it dark, I don't want to see what the farang in the seat next to me is doing.

Just a hunch Thaiguest - but I reckon that 7yrs after his post, boygeenyus is highly unlikely to reply.

Possibly/probably dead in fact.

I was wondering: New Screw Boys? I had a look days ago and there was nothing new. Since the thread started in 2007, there was one remodeling (2013?). Thankfully, op posted drink price: 200 Baht in 2007.

I wonder why this post has been resurrected after so many years.
It contains a rare (probably unique) mistake from Trongpai (my favourite poster of all time). Screw Boys is in fact on Patpong 2 next to the lady boxing bar.
The last time I walked past, they were asking 300 Baht per beer inside (that's why we walked past).
It always had the advantage of staying open later than other go go bars.
The disadvantage that very late it became crowded with the ladies when their bars closed.
The bar is owned by the Kings Group of bars in Patpong.

In that case he must surely be near the top of the queue for a plaque or maybe even a roast - if name-changes count towards "length of service" :))

On the subject of Screw Boy/s - it was always one of my favourite places in BKK. Over the years it's closed and re-opened more times than a go-go boy's legs - but the best times were when it was owned by a guy called Porn (or similar-sounding). One night we witnessed him getting mildly battered by his wife because of some indiscretion! On the downside they had two of the most repulsive old ladyboys as waiter and mamasan - who would drink half your bottle of whisky and gleefully bump against you every time they took another sip - shouting "Happy For You! Happy! Happy!"

It was also the scene of the most bizarre situation I've witnessed when the water went off and this ANNOUNCEMENT was actually made by the farang DJ "There is no water in the toilets - if you need a shit please ask for a carrier bag" =))

Last month I spent about an hour at New Screw Boys, sat through their shows of a few men daring enough to expose their cocks, some boys dancing to choreography, and a few ladyboys doing the lip synch. The boys appeared fresh & eager for company.
There were over a dozen masculine boys with zero limp-wrist twinks. A couple or so had good physique & appendages.
Coke was 300 baht. Off fees & tips were similar to standard bars in Soi twilight.

The new set-up was noticeable as the stage was now on the right as you enter, and with brighter lighting. Previously the stage was facing the entrance and was generally gloomy. However the seating area for customers on the left was cosy with low lights for a bit of intimacy.

And how many other handles......
If my memory serves me correctly, boygeenyus and homintern (The Colonel) were ejected by jinks at or about the same time...something to do about claims from each other that they had each other's photograph until homintern finally posted something of someone approximately boygeenyus's age. Then boygeenyus became "Beach Bunny" to which homintern reincarnated himself as "Beached Bunny" using the same avatar as Beach Bunny. There were a lot of folks choking on their morning Corn Flakes back then.

Went to screwboys with Bf last week
they wanted 300B each for a drink... tried to negotiate them down to 250 each but mamasan said can not
We walked away expecting them to call us back... But they didn't!
Funny as similar negotiating tactics work in the soi twilight bars (with the exception of dreamboys)

I've known the mamasan and the ex owner for donkey's years but got the same response.
However we went in and on finishing our drinks and about to leave, we were pressured to stay with drinks being offered at 150.

An edit as an afterthought ---- Screwboys is now owned by The King's Group ---- maybe this is the corporate policy.

A further afterthought -- maybe King's bought the bar as somewhere for their girls to go afterwork to spend their salaries and tips thus keeping all the money circulating in the group? I wonder how much the girls pay for first drink?

Would Screw Boys be a suitable venue for someone who prefers twinks? I haven't been there for many years. Or perhaps one of the Soi Twilight bars would be better? I've only got one night in BKK before P. arrives!

You could try Classic Boys in Soi Twilight and if not lucky always go on to Screw Boys as it stays open later than other bars.

If you go to Pattaya after one night in Bangkok, I recommend skipping Bangkok gogo bars completely for several reasons: few twinks, high prices, foreign boys in jeans or even fully clothed (except Screw Boys, but numbers of boys working can be low).

I certainly would not pay 350 Baht for a drink to look at a stage half full with fully dressed boys (spotted in X-Boys when walking past a week ago), when I can have a stage full of twinks in underwear for 150 Baht in Pattaya.

If it has to be a gogo bar in Bangkok, I recommend Screw Boys (after having a free look to see how many boys are present): "only" 300 Baht per drink, and last week there was some interesting material. Or go to Super A or Nature Boys (here again have a free look first to see how many boys are working; there was a pleasant surprise in Nature Boys last week with 9 (!) boys and two more coming later).

Not Pattaya...we don't arrive there for a week. Next stop Krabi- not a gar bar to be seen! So a Bangkok fling is a must. Thanks for the suggestions.

Don't skip Bangkok if you're going to be there anyway....

Just walk slowly down Soi Twilight and as the guys are hustling you to enter each gogo bar, ask them, "Can I just look?" If they say no, go to the next one. But odds are 95% chance they'll say, "Yes! Only look!" Then take them at their word. As they try to push you in the door and to a seat / table.... Keep saying, "No. Only look." They'll let you stand at the entrance for long enough to see if you see anything hot.

If I see a hot one, I'll often ask the waiter, "Can number 21 bottom?" .....or whatever. If I get the right answer, and he looks good enough, I'll off him right on the spot from the doorway entrance..... No sitting down. No drinks. No conversation. No other fees. Only the off fee.

Don't be intimidated. Doing so just makes you look like a "local" guy who knows the ropes and isn't playing games. You're ordering takeaway.... like a regular customer would. Not sit down table service.... like tourists do. ;-)

This "doorway takeaway off" thing is very easy to do.... especially at the ground floor level gogo bars on Soi Twilight. But it's even easier to do in Pattaya.

That's very good, the bar doesn't make any business, apart the off fee.
And next year, you will wonder why it is closed.
And will write on the boards about the dying .... Sunee, Boystown, Soi Twilight, .... delete where appropriate.
Christian PFC has elevated stingyness to an art, and he seems proud of it.
And he has followers.

I had assumed that many readers here had been in business independently and not mercenary.
It appears I was wrong.

I don't think a bar can survive on off fees only.

Believe me, I support the gogo bars 500 times more than a typical tourist would. I live here and they all know me. I don't think there's any danger of them not getting enough money out of me. Plus.... getting a 400 or 600 baht off fee for zero cost to them... is pretty profitable. I don't even take a seat away from a tourist for the show.

Restaurants don't turn down takeaway sales.

As for being cheap... There's nothing wrong with being cheap... as long as you're not expecting "a full service 5 star experience" at a "pack your own lunchbox sandwich" price. Be cheap. Or be demanding. But don't try to be *both* cheap *and* demanding.... and then complain about it. As I told a friend who wanted to see the show at Dream Boy but was complaining about the 450 baht price for a drink there... and refused to go.... "The show costs 450 baht. The drink is free."

Be cheap if you want to.... But don't be expecting something more.... and don't be demanding stuff for free. You're not the king of the world.
