Very rarely nowadays do I go to bars other than the 3 or 4 ones i prefer to give my hard earned cash to.I find i get harassed a lot of those ladyboy mamasan types particuarly at one go go bar in pattayaland where i was the only customer there and was continually asked every 5 minutes "mister which boy you want"?
This even happened to me at my favourite go go bar once,Krazydragon.
Finally i had to tell the bitch,"Would you please piss off ,cant you see im reading the Torah".
However i heard WILD WEST BOYS in Pattayaland has now raised their drink prices for their show to 300 baht.
I would like to go to see their show but paying 300 baht for a drink of coca cola is very expensive and they wont let you haggle the price down.
Is there show worth the money? Works out to be over $10 a drink!!!!
I do like to see shows, but i never see them advertised.

IS THIS REALLY TRUE BILLY, 300 BAHT FOR A DRINK AT SHOWTIME?????

Why don't people fill up before the show???

That's seems a bit like cutting your own throat!

I am amazed at the business practises of 90 % of the proprietors in Thailand and I shouldn't like
to examine too closely those of the remaining 10%.

They should be offering Barbra Streisand in an intimate concert setting for that price.

This person appeared at a tent in South East London this week with tickets of face value approximately B32000 (┬г500). I heard that there were e-bay offerings at 20% of that for the later concerts.

Is 300 Bht general or just when you are brought there by a tout. I witnessed a straight couple being charged 300Bht at Crystal Boys last week for the show... 'free drink' they were brought in by a tout, but other customers were only charged 150bht

July 20th, 2007, 23:24
The Manager of Crystal Boys and Wild West bars confirmed to me tonight that they are charging ONLY 99 baht a drink before 10 p.m. and 150 baht after that when the shows are on - Wild West 10.30 / midnight and Crystal 11.15 p.m. They have never charged 300 baht a drink and have no plans to so do.

Crystal Boys was busy and they had a lot of handsome muscular boys and athletic ones also. They were being offed fast.

I don't know how these silly rumours get started but it would be nice if someone checked before the bars loose too much business.

300B. a drink did seem a bit steep for the rather tepid show at Wild West Boys. Glad it finally got straightened out.

Now, what about the rest of the bars in the area charging up to 140B. for a beer in low season with no customers
and few boys. Maybe this 99B. drink idea will catch on and the bars will do some business especially in low season.
At least at Lucky 777 they have a sign about 100B. beers.

4 Seasons Boy bar is almost never mentioned and probably because it often had 5 or less boys and rarely any
customers. It is being renovated and there is new ownership connected with one of the existing boy bars in the area. :cat:

I was there this week at 10:01, 16 July 2007, and was given a menu where all drinks were listed at 300TB. I am not making this up. If that's tout prices then the tout must have walked in with me uninvited.

I was with the BF and he questioned the price and there was a long discussion. The guy at the door said drinks were 99 but the waiter said it's now after 10, you pay 300. Someone else came over and the price was reduced by 100 but I saw the menu and everything was 300.

So, in the end I paid 200 once it was explained we were not brough in by a tout, not 150. I guess the manager/owner is not all knowing.

The show was horrable it was not worth 20B and that's the truth too!

I took a couple of straight friends there to see the show several months ago - after they brought us the drinks they gave us the Bill right away. This is new to me, as usually they put the bill in the cup and add them at the end just before you leave. I looked at the bill as I was going to pay for my friends - I was shocked to see the total was 1350 baht for 3 drinks. SO, I complained to the waiter right away, then he told me that it is the right price due to the show. I told them that I am not a tourist and know that I am being taken and that the normal price of a drink should be no more than 150 baht. The waiter then left, and returned and said "It's 250 baht per drink" - Again I said "NO" it should be 150 baht - and handed him 450 baht for the 3 drinks and told him How Upset I was that he tried to cheat me!!!

So this is NOT a vicious rumour, as I can confirmed that It happened to me as well. Please verify this with the manager if you know him/her.

I was concerned when I read that some observed customers brought in by touts being charged 300 baht a drink. Last night after posting I sent an e-mail to Wild West - their address is on their website.

"Hello,

It has been reported on several gay Thai forums that your bars Wild West and Crystal are now charging 99 baht a drink up to 10 p.m. and 300 baht after that.

Your manager told me this evening that you are charging 150 baht after 10 p.m. NOT 300 baht. Others have reported that you are charging 300 baht a drink when a tout brings customers into the bar.

I would appreciate confirmation of you real charges,

Thanks,

I got this reply by return:

Thank your for your email.

Yes we are charging 99B on our regular drink during our happy hour and that is from 8 until 10pm in the evening and it is clearly posted inside Crystal and WWB. And then after 10pm, regular drinks are at regular price which is 150B and not 300B.

BUT, there are lots of tout around town and if they bring in customer they were the one dealing with them with regards to the drink price. Some customers agreed to pay 200 or 250 or 300 on their FIRST DRINK. If they order 2nd, 3rd, 4th drink, amount is regular. So on their next visit they know that regular drink is on 150.

Thank you again.

Best Regards,

Maike

I never heard of this 'tout sets the price' happening elsewhere. In Bangkok the touts get 100 baht a customer but then all the drink prices are 200 baht+ and groups like BBB refuse to pay the touts. It seems, to me, an unattractive practice which is open to abuse.

We went in there on our own - No Touts, but the waiter still slapped us with a 450 baht/drink bill (1350 baht for 3 people). Okay I'm guilty of bringing along a straight couple into a gay bar, but they are my good friends - I won't do it again I promise :geek: My guess is that if you walk in there looking like a Straight couple you get charged the Premium with or without a tout to consider. If the owner is not aware of this, then his staff must be paying themselves very well.

In my case we walked in alone. A tout might have walked in with me and I did not notice but then again it could have just been the waiter. The tout had to be well behind me, if there really was one.

The menu I was given had 300 on every item in bold print. I questioned the high price and was told again and again that the price is correct. I was also told the show was worth 300. After a long discussion with the BF and two staff of the bar the price was adjusted to 200 not 150. Two drinks total price 400, I did not leave a tip.

Again the show stinks. Too bad I used to like this bar.

Thanks for sending an E mail wowpow, interesting reply. He acts like the touts that are around town have noting to do with him yet he is paying them by increasing the customers drink price. "Some customers agreed to pay 200 or 250 or 300 on their FIRST DRINK" Oh I see the fault is with the customers agreeing?

Hell will have to freeze over before I go in this bar again.

Trongpai has made this his mission and he is no doubt correct. At least on that nite and with that waiter.
As the policy had just changed that day or a couple of days earlier, it is at least possible that there was
a misunderstanding. Written menus are notorious for being full of mistakes and in my opinion .................
the solution is to go to the bar earlier in the evening and enjoy dozens and dozens of beautiful guys in thongs
and enjoy the 99B. drink policy. The show sucks anyway and draws hordes of heteros, especially in high season...

The show used to be hot and was worth seeing but it has gotten so tame you could bring your grandma and she
wouldn't be fazed.. :cat:

I have not been in WWB since around March and have no intention to go in there again.
At that time the drink prices were 150 baht and the show awful .
By the way:
At that time it was still the high season and a lot of straights(seemed like Russians) inside gawking at the gays rather than at the stage.
Is it still the same?

Guys,

This now makes sense!!

We used to have this problem also, even to the stage of the "mafia touts" when they were hard up, following people in to venues and claiming they had introduced them to the bar!

They even asked us to prepare bills giving the higher tout price.

I refused I further told them, if they brought a customer to the bar, they, as far as I was concerned, were their guide / escort etc. I was not interested.

It was their responsibility, to deliver the drinks to the guests and pay the bill. My staff were having no part of it.

Furthermore, we would not issue bills at the inflated price and if the customer asked or ordered from our staff, he would be charged the regular rate.

This relieved my staff from glares and daggers from the touts, The touts knew where they stood, and that these people were their responsibility.

That way, you avoid falling out with anyone.

Pattaya, can be a small town, for those that think confrontation [ in that type of instance, is the way, it isn't ]
